Flames are imploding, Mathew wants out, they lose over 200 points in players this off season - Mithos
That's crazy. Hard to remember a time that happened |

I have no basis for this, but I'm assuming it's the coach. - PogBoi
People are quick to forget what a knob Sutter was with Gaudreau.....does anyone else remember the endless shots he would take at him in pressers when he was first hired towards the end of last season? He threw him under the bus 9 games into coaching Calgary....here's a refresher!

Precisely, your GM has gushed over Tanev for awhile now. - PuckPix
PD wants Tanev....plus he doesn't want to take on more than 3 years with any defenseman due to the youth coming along....Tanev has 2 years......Andresson forget it....5 years, no thanks!

Process of elimination of those who have said they weren't involved shows eight players' representation not commenting, citing the ongoing investigation. Deduction indicates pretty clearly that both Senators are involved. - Bartacus
Yup, which is why a month ago when someone asked me to comment on it, I said....I know the answer but I'm not going on record to say it.....at least others figured out now!

Really important and timely comment.
"Old style" coaches seem to have a short shelf life. Tortarella comes to mind. Sutter was great in LA but it all fell apart in a short period of time. The act begins to wear thin inside the dressing room after the initial success.
On the other side, you see the new style coaches in Colorado and Tampa that are so low key. They do not criticize, question or doubt their players in public or through the media. They always appear to promote the idea of a team leadership that comes from within the team rather than from behind the bench.
Guys like Tortarella and Sutter, whether intended or not, always appear that they are at the centre of everything that is happening and need to be the smartest guy in the room who always has the best or most clever answer. |

Chris Tanev would be the dream partner for Chabot.

Texting with an #NHL GM yesterday “Trust me. Moving money is hard. Harder than people understand.”
Not a lot of teams will be able to free the cap space and combine it into a trade package for Matthew Tkachuk. Strickland is well connected with the Blues. You know they are trying to find a way to do the deal for Matthew and discoing just how costly it is to move salary to the very few teams that have cap space.
Pretty ugly if Blues have to add sweetener to move Tarasenko.
Dorion was smart to move early. |

Last year Tarasenko had 82 points in 75 games, plus 6 goals in 12 playoff games. Considering that he is a $7.5M cap hit with $5.5M actual salary, the Blues will get a pretty decent return if they trade Tarasenko. |

There was a video of him touring Canadian Tire Centre, and his arms and shoulders were pretty beefy looking. If he takes after Gimli the Dwarf, there's no worries at all. |

Too many good players coming to the east from the west, really hope St Louis puts out a big push for Tkachuk. |

The 2016 draft class is kind of strange. Leaf fans are worried about Matthews resigning. Laine and Dubois have already been traded for one another. Puljarrvi is insisting on a trade out of Edmonton. Matthew Tkachuk is forcing a trade out of Calgary. Dubois now wants to be moved from Winnipeg to to Montreal.
But, the most curios and entirely off the radar is Laine. Columbus has $0 left on the cap. Gaudreau got all the Laine money. So, Laine remains unsigned and there are very few teams with the cap space to take him on (Anaheim, Buffalo, Calgary (?), Chicago, New Jersey. Strange off season.
I guess the 2016 draft was filled with some butt ugly personalitities. |

I hope it stays that way too. Don't want a 'forward' version of Patrick Lalime ("The Goalie Made of Glass"). That guy had more bad luck than anyone else on that roster that I can remember. |

4 games in total....but he stays away from a lot of contact too...he uses his speed to avoid it....East is different though....will be interesting to see how he adapts!
