In bad corporations the real decisions makers insulate themselves from being held accountable by hiring yes men (or women). The yes people have long careers by taking the blame for their bosses. This boss may fire them but they continue their careers for other companies/ teams that like the yes men management style. That’s how Chuck got his GM job here.

If we look at the Flyers defense. The right side is very weak if Ellis can't play. The left side is actually the strength of the Flyers defense. Overall no where close to contending level. In order to trade one of Provorov or Sanheim. They would need a comparable defenseman coming back for it to make sense. They don't have the replacement players to move one for draft picks or prospects and the cap savings needed.

Again from a team building standpoint, I agree. However, from a cap space creation these players would be easier to move then JVR. I would not be surprised if this happens in lieu of moving a 1st and JVR. Let me reiterate. I am not advocating this path.
