Yeah I would say that pretty much tells us JG is playing in Newark.

I cant say that I am too broken up about it.

I actually think that if the flyers signed JG AND we somehow have a healthy roster (Coots, Bee, Hayes ) Hart plays well as he did for most of last year, then we'd be a team that challenges for a playoff spot and that might get in. That's likely what is being sold to fans is that the team is in the hunt and that if you get in, anyone can win type of thing. But I don't see a contender which is the real issue.
- Hextall271

Exactly. If you're going to pay top dollar, get top dollar results. JG isn't a player you get just to get bounced in the 1st round.

Bill,

I know Dave Scott wanted action but is he aware or is the front office aware most real fans would be ok with a rebuild. Watch young players grow as they draft high and try to retool this?

You can't take a proud franchise and turn it into a dumpster fire and think fans will be ok with that. This isn't the Atlanta Thrashers or AZ Coyotes. This is a major sports market.

What’s the name of the generational talent kid in this draft? We should go all in for him

Which one? There are 3 really good ones to get next year.

For the org its about signing someone to get fans back and at least get them into contention for a playoff spot. If not jg they’ll have to make other moves for this purpose which is not good.

I have come to the point I would use the Florida 2024 first rounder to move Hayes' contract and just keep JVR for the year.

I am with MJL.

Blow it the (frank) up.

I'm sure that's who he wanted to hear, but knowing the Flyers luck they will win, but still lose by drafting Michkov then Putin sending him to the war.

Not signing JG is a huge positive for the Flyers. Fletcher's utter incompetence is actually helping this team.

They may end up inadvertently tanking this season.

The FLyers at least were competitive during that time frame. IT may be 2033 before this team competes for a wildcard spot

If he continued coming back and got his game to where it was before his illness. They may have been able to get a decent future asset for him at the trade deadline. This organization has no clue.
- MJL

I was saying this over on the blog associated with the Tracker on the front page. A couple of people actually argued with me. There's more out there than just CF that have no clue about asset management.

Looks like mediocrity for the foreseeable future with the Flyers. As a fan, I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't put any money on seeing a contender in Philly for a while.

The key is what the other teams want in that scenario. The Flyers could want to do that, but they need a taker.

I agree. If provy decides to go home to visit family this summer he’ll likely get arrested too.

Also. F u ovechkin Putin supporter. He should be kicked out of the nhl for supporting him . Go back home and grab a rifle you punk.

True. The spending of draft assets like a drunken sailor is no good any way you look at it.
