Toronto wants a top 6 winger.

To Toronto: Konecny
To Philly: Kerfoot(1 year left at 3.5) and Nick Robertson

Does it work? Lets pull this band aid off and start the rebuild. I can't beleive this franchise has become this. It is embarrassing to have a major market team have no direction. Bad or good direction.

The Flyers should be acquiring draft picks instead of players. chuckles need to go Pittsburgh circa 83/84

Look, I'm only bringing up possible scenerios that could happen to get JG signed. When I wrote, I don't advocate such a path, I thought that was pretty straighforward. Have a feeling this JG saga will be resolved in the next 24 hrs thankfully.
- Trox88

My point if I'm not being clear is the Flyers could trade Sanheim and Farabee and make the room for Gaudreau. There are umpteen scenarios I could be together where they "could" make the room. However it has to at least make some sense, doesn't it?

I was saying this over on the blog associated with the Tracker on the front page. A couple of people actually argued with me. There's more out there than just CF that have no clue about asset management.

Looks like mediocrity for the foreseeable future with the Flyers. As a fan, I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't put any money on seeing a contender in Philly for a while.

Well. He could put any player under 30 on waivers and see who takes them. Call up ahl players and close the doors to the rink. It probably wouldn’t be enough to bankrupt them though.

True. The spending of draft assets like a drunken sailor is no good any way you look at it.
- StepfordSam

Agreed!
The Flyers should just let what they have ride. Suck it up. They have some decent young talent. Coach them right, fix the power play, fix the penalty kill, don't give up draft picks - in fact accrue them if possible. Draft well. Let the contracts expire. Trade to get assets from a position of strength, not from desperation. I think with that in mind, the team in time will be much better off.

How many games did the Flyers lose by 1 goal last year. A better PP and PK could do wonders.

I have come to the point I would use the Florida 2024 first rounder to move Hayes' contract and just keep JVR for the year.

I am with MJL.

Blow it the (frank) up.

Colorado re-signed Josh Manson. 4 years 4.5M AAV. Better player and better deal than Ristolainen.

Look, lets not make Lindblom more than he is. He is a bottom 6 forward who when healthy plays the right way. He currently isn't nor was he ever a needle mover. Yes I agree the Flyers should have managed the cap better so to trade Lindblom at the deadline versus having to buy him out, and that could have easily been done by avoiding the DeAngelo trade, where Fletcher spent just about every dime he had in cap space, plus 3 high picks that could have helped the franchise in the future. It also could have avoided the buy-out by trading Risto at the deadline last year instead of resigning him for another 5 years. Its just short-sighted thinking from someone who is on the cusp of getting fired or whose boss is on the cusp of getting reassigned. Either way, the long term health of the Flyers is in serious, serious jeopardy!

Does RR have an NMC? If not, why not move him? I suspect the answer is that no one else in their right mind will take that contract. Another CF debacle.
