Colorado re-signed Josh Manson. 4 years 4.5M AAV. Better player and better deal than Ristolainen.
- MJL

There were folks on here bashing that trade and he ended up being a key piece in their cup run

Look, lets not make Lindblom more than he is. He is a bottom 6 forward who when healthy plays the right way. He currently isn't nor was he ever a needle mover. Yes I agree the Flyers should have managed the cap better so to trade Lindblom at the deadline versus having to buy him out, and that could have easily been done by avoiding the DeAngelo trade, where Fletcher spent just about every dime he had in cap space, plus 3 high picks that could have helped the franchise in the future. It also could have avoided the buy-out by trading Risto at the deadline last year instead of resigning him for another 5 years. Its just short-sighted thinking from someone who is on the cusp of getting fired or whose boss is on the cusp of getting reassigned. Either way, the long term health of the Flyers is in serious, serious jeopardy!

Who is responsible for the teams long term health?

Nothing beats the instant regret we felt when Hayes and RR were signed.

Does RR have an NMC? If not, why not move him? I suspect the answer is that no one else in their right mind will take that contract. Another CF debacle.
- Letterkenney

The Flyers are not trading RR, they made that clear when they stupidly resigned him recently. Where is the plan here?? If you knew JG was in play, why waste your cap space on players like DeAngelo and Risto?? Now I hear Fletcher is trying to trade JVR, TK and Provey to make more cap space ... does he really think he is going to get $1 for $1 return in value? Other teams are not that stupid!

I enjoy when posters idiotically start with saying lets not make something into more than what it is by doing exactly that. Saying if Lindblom could get his game back to where it was before his illness. He could be a player the Flyers could move at the deadline on an expiring deal for a future asset. How is that in any way saying he is a needle mover? What are you talking about?

What makes you think Fletch is in danger of being fired? Do you really have that much faith in Dave Scott? I don’t.
Then does he hire the next GM?
CS does not need to be a hockey guy to get it right. He would have to hire the right guy that knows hockey.

My point if I'm not being clear is the Flyers could trade Sanheim and Farabee and make the room for Gaudreau. There are umpteen scenarios I could be together where they "could" make the room. However it has to at least make some sense, doesn't it?
- MJL

Ok, let s chat Provy being moved irregardless of the JG situation. There is a belief by some he is over paid for his production. If that is true, it could be time to sell. Again, I wrote "could". However, from a team building standpoint Sanheim would have to be signed long term and an assumption York can handle a top 4 on the left side. Those are 2 variables which I don't know that can be accomplished.

Why was it a stupid signing? The Flyers best defenseman and one of the best defenseman in the league.

Any trade of Provorov would realistically have to have a similar defenseman coming back.

Last off-season was last off-season. I am focusing on the here and now .. and what the Flyers are trying to do is nothing less than criminal! I have been consistent in what approach I had hoped the Flyers would take this off-season and it appears they are doing the complete opposite. If they continue on this course its going to be a train wreck, and I would be all in on Fletcher being fired and the front office cleaned out! Unfortunately this will not happen until next season, so as fans we have to continue to exist in this hell for a lot longer.

No last off season is not last off season. It's part of the equation of your posting and how now under the overwhelming evidence that many of us have been telling you for over a year. You're slowly but surely coming to the realization that you have been blindly avoiding for a long time. That Fletcher is a bad GM with a bad plan in a bad orginzation.

Again, show me the post where I stated Risto was the best defenseman in the league? I'll wait ...

There was a 3 week stretch last season where Risto was the Flyers best defenseman and I stated that and stand by it ...

You posted it a number of times. There was not a stretch let alone a single game where Ristolainen was close to being the Flyers best defenseman.

That's fair, just discussing scenerios to create cap space and possible team building paths. I will write either Sanheim or Provy will not be on the roster for the '23-'24 season. Just my fan prediction.
