1. could be waiting for Philly to clear space
2. if not Philly he could be playing the Isles vs the Devils for the best deal

As much I would like to see the Flyers make moves, I’d rather them just fly low.

It's funny how Fletcher is going to start next season with a worse roster then the previous year. While pissing off those who want to tank, and those who wanted him to be aggressive. Whatever the guy touches turns to poop.
- PLindbergh31

They’ve added a good offensive d man….and lost their best offensive forward. Today the roster is indeed worse….yes they can say they will be more healthy….but that too is they can really only say they “hope” to be more healthy…..no guarantees.

The San Jose Sharks trade D Brent Burns and F Lane Pederson to the Carolina Hurricanes for G Eetu Makiniemi and a conditional 2023 3rd-round pick. Sharks are retaining 33 percent of Burns’ contract.

Yeah but I am not sure they should be flying low.

They should be planning for some sort of future. Either move guys like Provorov and Konecny and rebuild or do your "aggressive retool"

Doing nothing is almost worse unless your grabbing someone who is a reclamation project or cheap one year vet you can flip at the TDL for more picks.

Pick a path and do it. This middle of the road stuff is the worst place to be.

I see your point. CF seems to have no clue what to do. He may know what needs to be done but he knows he will lose his job. He’s in a tough place. The fans want a long term contender and Comcast wants money now. Tough place.

Didn’t CF post season media day state he likes his roster?

Fletcher is in the Flyers war room. "How come nobody is replying to our faxes"? "Can we get IT in here to check to see if this is working"

See i am not sure that really is the big deal. I actually think this is someone like Dave Scott wanting to have a legacy of a guy who won a cup in Philly so be held in the same name as a guy like Ed Snider. I really think this is an ego thing for him. In a good full rebuild he might not be around to see it to the end.

Fletcher is the GM but I think a lot is a Dave Scott agenda that can't be done this way.

Dave Scott is not a hockey guy. Has no hockey background. How does he form his agenda?

Dave Scott is the boss is he not. He would be the guy to fire Fletcher would he not. Fletcher won't fire himself.

He might not have a hockey backround. But he is the boss and he was right there at the presser saying they need to be aggressive.

Surprised Fletcher hasn't signed PK Subban yet for 6m per...or is that saved for tomorrow?
