Looks like we are going the Hextall method for next season, stay out and pick outside the top 10.

I'd beg to get Hextall back.

The rest of the division has already improved today as well. Minus maybe CBJ.

FLETCHERs incompetence saves him from making an even greater incompetent move which groes his incompetence

Perhaps the only benefit to Fletcher mismanaging the cap and having no space is that it stops him from spending anymore. Silver linings?

If they can't get JG or Kadri here, who's even left at this point? Phil Kessel?

I'd rather Fletcher have money to spend then to rely on his ability to make trades to improve the team. The guy is just an awful GM and always has been. Hes the guy you bring in to destroy your franchise, not to save it.

But it's not. If you have some space you can take a bad deal to get picks or prospects as a sweatner. they can't even do that.

No teams know a sucker when they see one
- hello it's me 2050

You’re going to tell me there isn’t a team that wouldn’t want JVR for nothing? 25 goals, $4 million in real dollars, easily traded at the deadline and off the books at the end of the year if kept.

There is legit no risk. The ONLY reason they aren’t making the trade is because they know the Flyers will use the space to sign Gaudreau.

If I was a younger rebuilding team that could get him to be a leader for nothing I’d be all ears.

Like I said, spiteful.

It's like they're tanking, but not intentionally. Which would still be good for draft position, but not the cap situation with the way Fletch is doing things. It truly is unbelievable how bad this franchise has been at managing the cap since it's inception. The lack of foresight is just crazy.
