If they can't get JG or Kadri here, who's even left at this point? Phil Kessel? - Tomahawk
Fletcher has had since AV firing and his press conference where he talked about an aggressive retool to come up with a plan. CF and Comcast/Dave Scott are very ungood at running a hockey team. This has been and continues to be so bad it’s actually amusing. |

Brent Burns just got traded. Are you kidding me that there isn’t a market for JVR? |

The Sharks did retain 33% but at that figure I would think JVR could be moved.

You’re going to tell me there isn’t a team that wouldn’t want JVR for nothing? 25 goals, $4 million in real dollars, easily traded at the deadline and off the books at the end of the year if kept.
There is legit no risk. The ONLY reason they aren’t making the trade is because they know the Flyers will use the space to sign Gaudreau.
If I was a younger rebuilding team that could get him to be a leader for nothing I’d be all ears.
Like I said, spiteful. - Flyers1218
If a team wanted him why is he still here?
So the other teams are doing their jobs. They want something in return. /it is smart not spiteful at all

Worse than that were the people who kept saying there was a market for JVR w/o sweeteners.

There yet may be a market for JVR ... lets wait and see what happens. And what I stated before the DeAngelo trade was that the Flyers are cap compliant right now without making any moves. Obviously if they want to go all in on JG which I don't agree with, they would have to be creative to open up about $10M in cap space. |

He’s just a very poor GM. But hey that Harvard education mesmerized Dave Scott. |

Brent Burns is an actual 1st-pair defenseman still. And with salary-retained, he makes less than RR.
A $7M 20-goal bottom-six winger is an impossible luxury in a flat cap. |

I wonder what the reaction would have been if Fletcher signed Malkin to the same deal? |

There is a market for JVR….Elliot Freidman said we teams would take JVR if the Flyers include their 2023 1rst rnd pick….that’s the market. |

JVR is only owed $4M this season. The Flyers could easily cover more if they needed to. I get the sense that JVR might be packaged with Provey in a larger trade.

There are teams he’s top 6 on and he doesn’t affect their cap. It’s one year for 25 goals. |

A trade to a rebuilding team makes to much sense. It really does. I don’t know why teams care about the Flyers getting Gaudreau. |

Nobody wants JVR. Yes, he has a knack for scoring goals. But he is impossible to fit into a lineup at even strength. No coach wants to deal with that.
Even the bad teams with plenty of cap space realize that taking him from the Flyers is doing them a service, and those teams are going to want to be compensated for that service. It's not some spite-based conspiracy. It's business. And that's how bad of a fit JVR is for today's game. |
