That may well be the point.. The pattern of moves might suggest that they want to disguise a tank job under the guise of controversy and "Flyers Hockey". They sign Torts but also Tony D (a most non-Torts kind of player). They buyout a guy who would have been a Torts type player for a goon. They don't part with picks for next year. They keep JVR, another hopeless non Torts player.

If I am correct, they were never in the running for JG.

He actually is not bad as he hits everything that moves and can play on the pk. Just don’t know why we gotta give him 4 x 2 and why now. Why not wait till the bigger boats are out of the harbor before we worry about parking the 15 footer. Why tie up the two mill. Got no issue w Braun as he is solid for 1 mill playing at the tail end of the lineup, but why sign Seeler a few weeks ago too..

I would not criticize that which had not happened yet. Unlike some on here, I try to be objective and hopeful. However when Fletcher resigned Risto I voiced my disapproval, I was hoping they would trade Risto. When Fletcher did not get more for G I voiced my disappointment, in fact it was others defending Fletcher stating he did the best he could. I stated I hoped that Fletcher would just build through the draft this year and next year and stay away from dumb trades and free agent signings, but alas he could not resist, and I will hammer him for it!
