Flyers world class analytics staff at it again. I guess their internal data metrics just weight fighting/hit sumbudy!/goals against higher than most. - StepfordSam
lol! no doubt part of those non-publicly available data sets
He actually is not bad as he hits everything that moves and can play on the pk. Just don’t know why we gotta give him 4 x 2 and why now. Why not wait till the bigger boats are out of the harbor before we worry about parking the 15 footer. Why tie up the two mill. Got no issue w Braun as he is solid for 1 mill playing at the tail end of the lineup, but why sign Seeler a few weeks ago too..
Wtf - Joe Nardone
He's not bad? He is literally one of the worst players in the entire league!
The franchise has had some good times and bad ones. but this time feels so different. Not even sure how to describe it. There is a hopelessness to it right now.
Can we be honest that we would have ripped him for signing JG and now that it’s not happening we are still kinda cranky cause we don’t have a shinny toy to play with here?
I mean does anyone really think from a hockey perspective that paying him 10 mill for 7 years made sense? Does anyone really think that is a good move?
I could see if he was a stud d or something, but I can’t give him 70 mill +. Just can’t do it at this point. - Joe Nardone
He should absolutely sign JG. If it costs us Floridas 1st round pick so be it. The guy cant draft anyway and even if he picks the right player our development team will ruin the player.

Some things just have to be explained. The problem really is that an elite player wants to play here and the Flyers can't do it due to the sheer madness of their incompetence.

Sometimes guys over think things….would JG be their best player for the foreseeable future? YES. did he want to come here ? YES. …would it cost you any assets ? NO
If he doesn’t fit a so called time line….change the -ucking timeline. The Flyers lack elite talent …that's what he is.

If he wanted to be here they could have made it happen. He didn't want to be here CLiff

Salary cap will rise rapidly given the tv deal and inflation. - PT21
A salary cap doesn’t matter if this is how it’s spent.

“There will be no cap management, no enjoyment of the process of hockey. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always— do not forget this, Winston— always there will be the intoxication of retooling, constantly increasing bad contracts and bad draft picks. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on a fan base who is helpless. If you want a picture of the Flyers' future, imagine a dog poopting on a center ice logo — forever. ”

I mean, at least in the past, the doofuses running the team were our hockey heroes, and we felt like even when they were screwing up, their hearts were in the right place.
Now it just feels like they're making moves to "entertain" instead of win.

Emily Kaplan on ESPN+ about Johnny Gaudreau: "His family is from South Jersey. He wanted to go to the Philadelphia #Flyers. He was telling friends he wanted to go to the Philadelphia Flyers."
Kaplan followed this up with: “Chuck Fletcher was working to move JVR’s contract. Didn’t work out, they didn’t like the price in exchange.”
The ESPN panel was clowning on the #Flyers. Kevin Weekes points out NJ is foaming at the mouth because of Philadelphia’s ineptitude.

This is the first time I really hope all the media types hold This Bozo’s feet to the fire. It’s shockingly bad how this team is being lead.
