I frankly don’t see a difference between how bad this team is being lead to the Milbury days on the island…it’s beyond comical with some of his decision making. Delaurier for 4 years!!!! I’m at a loss for words how stupid a signing that is. Is nice to have toughness but you have to be able to play at an NHL level.

They cannot afford to do a Chicago style teardown. Chicago has won 3 cups recently. They have banked enough capital to ride out a few rough years. If they did, they would be like Chi before the Kane/Toews era, and Comcast has shown they are not willing to take that long view financially.

Under the circumstances, you gotta go through the motions, keep most of the big names, and create enough drama to keep up appearances and fill seats.

DL seems good tank capital with good entertainment capital. Two years is the term. After that, salary cap ↑ + buyout will make his remainder negligible.

Risto hits, DL fights, TAD tweets, Clarke appears more often and says crazy things, and Torts threatens to fight Sielski. A team that picked top 5 last year is no better now. Add multiple injuries/surgeries/ailments, ride the drama and hope it stays that way?

This steaming turd Fletcher is going to have the audacity to meet the media at 5pm. And face softball after softball question from the media. Pathetic.

That’s just embarrassing the Fletcher couldn’t figure it out over the last 8 months….I kept hearing that the draft is a place to make deals… apparently for everyone except the incompetent idiot the Flyers have in charge.

Some things just have to be explained. The problem really is that an elite player wants to play here and the Flyers can't do it due to the sheer madness of their incompetence.
- MJL

Bingo. Hit the nail on the head.

“Aggressive Retool”. “Lacking top end talent”. “Blank Check”.

Tony DeAngelo, Justin Braun, and 4 years to an AHL player. The top end talent elite player wanted to be here.

It sure does seem like CF is trying to tank without admitting it to the fans.

As I’ve said, Fletcher needed to be careful with his choice of words. An “aggressive re-tool” sets up the Unrealistic expectation since Fletcher is operating with very little cap space. A reckless statement from an increasingly incompetent GM.

Haha. Well played. So am i missing something and jg hasn’t signed yet? Any idea what the hold up is? Deciding between jersey and nyi because he thought he’d sign with flyers and now isn’t?

He's still waiting for Chuck to either trade Provorov or the 2023 Bedard/Michkov lottery pick to make room.

But Chuck said: "NIC DESLAURIERS FIST!"

Yeah, I had that impression for a while, from the way they handled the Couts injury last year. I mean, I know this franchise is not the smartest, but I have never thought they are buffoons, and some of the moves they have been making are off-the-charts strange.

I mean, can you imagine a less Torts like guy than Tony D? You talk about accountability and locker room divisions and you bring in an old school D-first coach and then you go get that guy into this mess?

Not with us I’d say. Chuck is gonna come on soon and say that I forgot to clear cap space so I couldn’t sign him. But he’s still out there waiting for me to fax him back.

Also, he’ll say that while he said aggressive re tool , what he really meant was passive and incompetent tool.
