all of this is possible, JG is in no hurry but it is just as possible he is now looking over the other offers with a closer look, knowing the Flyers are horribly. Signing an enforcer maybe that is if Johnny G but it is all a long shot. Do you have direct access JG wife? I mean was this an update from a couple of hours ago?
- wcorvette

My friends wife talked to her around 2 pm.

That’s last I heard.

I will say I guess jg could say hey you know this offer over here we like also. I’m sure he and wife talked that over well before jg agreed to deal with philly.

Could philly call him and say hey we can’t get this money? Probably. But highly unlikely. If that were case surely jg has plan b of where he’d sign. Only makes sense

And it would’ve been done surely.

Also she pointed out he will be a flyer and philly has communicated every move to keep him in the loop.

If that was the case they would roll out Attard and Allison and not sign and vastly overpay vets. Let the kids cut their teeth in NHL if you want to tank….none of those signings did anything to help the Flyers tank…absolutely nothing.

Ha ha.

Does anyone read what the other person is saying before responding here?

A buyout of JVR doesn't even get them half way there!
- MJL

😂😂😂😂😂 for an expert on the cap you’d think you’d know it does. They can be up to 10% over right now.

What other things need to be be down the line to sign others and get cap complient on day 1 have ZERO bearing on getting jg signed NOW.

I’m saying it’s a done deal.

Fletcher just said they aren’t in on him and that they are done. There is literally no reason for him to say that to the press or fans if JG was in the picture. It’s over, dude.
Definitely sucks.

You're making a fool of yourself. Anyone who has even a basic understanding of the cap would realize that a team is not going to put themselves millions and millions over the cap in mid July in the hopes that they can somehow get cap compliant by the start of the season. Flyers have less than a million of available cap space. With Tippett and Frost still needing to be signed. Are you aware that there is now off season LTIR and that both Farabee and Ellis can be placed on it right now, as long as they can provide medical documentation that they will miss the first 10 games and or 24 days of the season? The Flyers aren't trying to get space with the 10%. They're trying to get space so they can fit Gaudreau in with a workable roster.

So you think the moves being made this off season is his idea to fill the seats? I'm not sure who the dumber one is.
- MJL

I believe he thinks the fans are staying away both because it is a bad team and because it is an insipid team. He really cannot fix the former short term. He is trying to fix the latter short term and the former long term. I believe if he raises attendance to above 90% and also picks high, he stays, irrespective of their record.

Also, this really doesn't matter, but just a couple of days ago, you declared (in that adorable way of yours) that you have never insulted my intelligence (which is untrue btw). Or have you deleted that post already at 3 AM in a recent morning?

You have no clue of the Flyers cap position.
- MJL

Tell you what…

When jg sign with philly you NEVER get to tell ANYONE about cap or philly position relative to it again.

Philly doesn’t sign jg and I’ll never make another prediction or cap comment again.

Deal?

And for the record I know you aren’t dumb enough to think philly can’t easily fit jg now or at day 1 beginning season.

I could see a reason why the Flyers are laying low….but the only ointment in the scenario is Fletcher…and his inability to do something good.
- landros 2

Hey personally I don’t think they should be signing jg.

I’ve been on the tear down for years now.

I only said what I found out over a week ago to lead people into discussion with jg on team.

I actually think that if the flyers signed JG AND we somehow have a healthy roster (Coots, Bee, Hayes ) Hart plays well as he did for most of last year, then we'd be a team that challenges for a playoff spot and that might get in. That's likely what is being sold to fans is that the team is in the hunt and that if you get in, anyone can win type of thing. But I don't see a contender which is the real issue.
We've been saying that for a number of years now, and most times those hopes are dashed when a disproportionate number of injuries pile up. Can't remember the last your optimistic scenario has worked out. Too many what-ifs for this team to contend with the current roster configuration.

I take it back. You don’t know much about cap then. Teams do it all the time.

Vegas has been over how many years in a row?

Tampa is over now

Do I need to go on?

Ok here’s what jg wife said …

Philly had trade holding at draft tk to ottawa.

Ottawa backed out when landing the cat.

Philly trying to move salary without buyout of Jvr to fit jg

They still have deal. Jg WILL be a flyer. They’re just waiting for the moves to be made that’s why not announced.

Again, you think that he thinks that the moves they made this off season gives the team more flavor? If that is the case, Fletcher is even dumber than previously thought.

As far as the part that doesn't matter. No need for me to do that. The post does it for me.

The best was when he said they will be tougher to play against this year….who knew Nic Delaurier was such an important cog going forward.
