Yes, they are absolutely incompetent and I am not defending the moves. If this is all we do, you'd think everyone would be happy as unless everyone is healthy, the current team will not be contenders and we will have a better pick next year. I agree with what Bill said and many others have said on here about long term deals, big contracts, etc. I preferred that we just stand pat but I'm not going to lose my mind over a 4th liner and 3rd pair d-man.

There’s no bidding war with the Islanders and Devils. He’s not going to live in NY.

If the Devils then were the only team actually with that huge offer it would have happened by now.

Why didn't they Joe? Not because they found better judgement and decided against it. They didn't because they couldn't. They boxed themselves in and couldn't make the deals they mistakenly thought that they could to get the cap space.

Time to start looking mock drafts for next summer. And thats a good thing. Watch the young kids develop. With any luck the Flyers will be where the Senators are now in 2-3 years...and no I don't mean Ottawa
