Let's say we finish last and get Bedard. Does anyone have any faith in our management to properly develop this kid?

If not, why root for tanking?

Yeah this sort of got lost in the sauce with everything else going on. Hart better stay healthy lol.
- hereticpride

Hasn't had a season where he stayed healthy the whole year, has he?

I would honestly think this was a major tank if he wasn't throwing picks out like candy on holloween.

He (frank)ing blows.

Let me provide for you a list

1) Stated that Gaudreau to the Flyers is a done deal. Even after the GM said they were out

2) Showed a complete lack of understanding of the salary cap including other teams position in terms of being cap compliant including the Flyers position

3) Made a really dumb comment in response to those telling you that the GM said they were out and said to not listen to the GM. Now here you are trying to spin it into something else.

The shame of it is that you had a real chance to score major points but you let your ego get in the way.

Back to where I was last week

Coots needs a good season, Hayes good season, Cam and miracle Ellis, then sell, sell and sell

- wcorvette

Coots should walk into Fletchers office and say trade me right (frank)ing now.

So let me get this right. CF buys out Oskar then signs Braun and Nic D.
If you were going for something bigger why not wait on the Oskar buyout.
I’d rather have OL back than these two.

- bird_dog_pa

This team would be better with:

Ghost
Hagg
Nopa
Myers

and the draft picks that have been pissed away

I am sure that I have missed some people shipped out but I have been mourning the passing of a once proud franchise with a healthy amount of Macallan 18 year old Scotch

I’d be more worried about the ability to build a team around him than developing him. Edmonton can’t get it right and they have two generational talents.

Could be, The "aggressive retool" comment could be the best thing that happened to the Flyers. It is a reference point to the utter incompetence up to the events today. I could be wrong, but I believe this was Fletcher's last stand today and he went down in a flaming inferno. Barring a miracle, I believe his fate is sealed.

Here is the reality we face today as Flyers fans. Until they clean house wholesale, right up to the top. Including everyone in hockey ops including the country club members. This team will not become a legit contender. I don't care who they draft.

The damage is already done. He has set this franchise back at least 5 years if not longer.

No, but to be fair, if this kid is as advertised, he really doesn't need a ton of help from coaches.

Anyway I see what has transpired since CF took over makes no sense, I cannot understand what direction or what there goal is here but nothing makes sense, we get fleeces on every deal, it’s total insanity and makes no ficking sense

Could Wayne Gretzky in his prime save this franchise?

I have 0 faith in management's ability to draft and develop a once in a life time player.

You absolutely deserve credit for that. Well done and kudos to you. You didn't try and oversell that like you did Gaudreau.

You weren't told it was a done deal. You added that and you know it. You blew it on this one. All you had to say was that the Flyers and Gaudreau's first choice and why and he wants to play here

Maybe you missed the many post when brought up where I stated she said it was a done deal. And it was as still is you twit. What part of that don’t you get. He’d be in Philly if not for a) ottawa backing out of tk trade at draft( which deal was confirmed to fall through at draft although no specific player or team mentioned) and cf inability to clear space to fit the deal which is easily proven by fact jg didn’t sign until when? Late at night after giving philly all the chance to make room where he’s clearly stated he wanted to go many times

You don't seem to understand how hard it is to clear cap space. Especially with a marginal player like JVR. They may have been close to a deal with Ottawa and then DeBrincat came into the picture.

- MJL

It’s you that doesn’t understand how easily it is to clear cap space as evidence by so many teams doing it. poop it’s really easy by just doing buyouts. And I’m not saying you should but it’s very easy to do. That’s a FACT. Not an opinion. Per usually you think YOUR opinion is fact. It’s not. That’s why you are a twit. You ARE correct and almost EVERYONE would agree you don’t just buyout or add assets to trades to make cap room. But it’s NOT a fact. You’ve somehow actually become so obtuse to these things it might be a new class of mental stage.

Agreed but getting JG over the line could have been a life line for Fletcher. Today was an absolute embarrassment.

Today is a punch to the face of anybody that had faith in or couldnt discern how terrible a GM Fletch has been.
