They should be healthier and a little better, the other part is the teams around them took a step forward. Both can be true, they will be the same, maybe a little better, still finish lower - wcorvette
Well, on the bright side, this is a good draft year to totally suck. Not that it really matters in the end because this team ruins prospects faster than a teenager in Epstein's mansion.

Hart's not enough to make a difference with this group, but if he goes down with an injury..... holy poop this team will be favorites for Bedard.
Won't work out like that though. Torts will have this team better than they should be and they'll pick 10-12. - rayc16
Yes, Torts over Yeo is the biggest improvement they’ve made for sure. |

I missed the presser. Did Chuck say when Brassard gets signed? - Minnyhock
You should know better, that will come a week before training camp. |

Chicago is better on paper than us now. Arizona is a toss up. I believe the Habs will be better than last year but they’re still a mess too.
We’re an injury to Coots or Hart away from being worst on paper roster in the league. And both those guys have a knack for getting injured so…. - hereticpride
Chicago is terrible |

I wonder where the franchise would be had Hextall been allowed to carry out his plan?
There is no guarantee it would be in a better place, but could it be in a worse place? - corduroy
No teams fan base will accept a ten year rebuild I was told.
Now they get longer🤷♂️ |

IT is a punch in the face of any fan of this team -- I am at a loss - corduroy
Im not. The Risto trade sealed his fate with me. Im estatic because from all of their misguided retool nonsense, they are going to hopefully bottom out with the potentially draft with talent like McDavid/Matthews or Ovi/Malkin available |

Fletcher is a good GM like Scranton Joe is a good president.
They would have a blast sitting around the dinner table blathering on how they ruined a hockey franchise and a country. |

I think we could be better, just by a very small margin. Coaching and health will only take this group so far. I’d like to see a lot more from Farabee and Konency. |

so 71 points vs 61 and drafting 8th instead of third or fifth?
PROGRESS!! |

If Fletcher was a GM for the Hells Angels, none of the prospects would make it.

Tippett gets to prime scoring areas, if he improves his shooting %, there will be improvement. Hart has to be healthy and really good because they are even worse then last year at backup. Basically, a lot has to go right to not be top 5 in the lottery. |

Hart will remain very very busy...Torts can try to instill some structure in the d zone, but needs buy in from all the fwds, and the right side with DeAngelo facing top pairing match-ups isn't going to be pretty...and Risto will still be Risto....They're asking ALOT of Provorov, Sanheim and Hart |

I’m glad you brought this up. We haven’t seen a full season and the ceilings both Tippett and Frost could provide. A healthy Hayes and Couturier should make us better. Konency and Farabee need to be better. There is no reason neither guy can’t sniff 30 goal seasons in their careers. I don’t know what the deal is with Konency’s dry spells. That’s not just development. |

Ryan Strome to Anaheim. - Minnyhock
Every Strome was available -- Why doesn't this team have a STROME line? |
