unless its replace. but it is far better now than it was 30 years ago.

holy (frank). halak is still kicking around the league. lol signed with the rags for 1.5M

- Gramps28

the rags also grabbed Louis Domingue, that guy just can't stay with the same team lol

yeah Halak is 37, probably close to retiring but still his game hasn't dropped all that much.

Did they get Ryder and a second too?
Historically, those go together as a package deal.

No I get that, but if he feels he can’t play anymore, why not pack it in? Like how long are the habs supposed to remain patient?. He’s got 4 years left, so safe to assume it’s gonna be touch and go with him for the remainder of the contract. That’s not fair to jake Allen.
- cburgess

yeah I think that's the point, he's trying to figure out if he still can play at a high enough level... I doubt he'll be stubborn about it if he doesn't feel okay and looks terrible on the ice.

I don't think retaining 50% would be such a good deal for the habs, unless there's an interesting prospect coming back... if he needs to start the season with the habs to show he can still play before being traded then so be it.

there were rumors that Price would be ready to play to start the year, but nothing official.

You can only retain money on so many players, so save it for trade deadline and use it then to max out returns on desperate teams.

We're they awake?

It's after 6:00 pm, they usually roll up the sidewalks in Ottawa after that time.

Once that was over, the Canadiens wasted no time in signing Juraj Slafkovsky to a 3-year entry level deal. Hughes had said that the plan was for the youngster to spend next season in North America and that’s what will happen. Will it be in Montreal or in Laval? We’ll get the answer to that question at the end of the real training camp.

I wouldn't mind that much if he started the season in Laval, but at the same time I'd be a bit disappointed if he wasn't already good enough to make the team...

- Pat1993

Let him play 30 games in Laval and see what happens

My entry level expired in 2014 before the hb.com posters association agreed to a cap of 6 years. So my 17 year deal was allowed.
