In other news Carpenter is gone to Rangers and Jarnkrok to the Leafs. - stoops2u
More draft picks totally and utterly wasted, and one a second rounder.

Oh, which one? Was just aware of Damage Done Fest end of August, Bad Religion was scheduled 7th Aug but seems got cancelled.
Important for you to know: There is currently a special (local) train ticket (just 9 Euro/month!) which you can use in whole Germany, incl. trams/buses in all cities. - VeryModernMan
Welturbojugendtage in Hamburg. I got the app but it appears the sale is no longer available to purchase.😟 |

One thing for certain is Gaudreau will never win a cup playing for the Blue Jackets. From the presser in Columbus Gaudreau looked like what the hell I just did do. - FlamesFan1230
Nor might he care. The more I listen to spitting chicklets the more I realize most players love golf and summer vacation. |

Always been a metal guy.
Jesus. That takes me back. Summer of 92 and I was a college athlete with long flowing hair. Canada day concert and my buddy knew someone connected to Barney Bentall so we got backstage. Met her and we got chatting about touring life etc which fascinated me as a kid that hadn’t travelled much. She made a man outta me. |

So a couple of days later after the Johnny Walker news I feel like the following is true.
1) Staying in Calgary was never an option for JG. But they (JG and his agent) never told Calgary management that.
2) Losing JG was never an option for ownership. They need to hire someone who can properly analyze risk, as it is unacceptable to lose Brodie, Gio, and JG in succession and have 1 playoff round win to show for it.
3) I have not seen a sincere thank you to the fans of Calgary from JG, which shows he understands that he understood stringing the team along would have consequences.
4) This team has some really good pieces to facilitate a quick rebuild/retool
5) Ownership only wants to make the playoffs. See point 2
6) I still think whatever it is, 5 coaches in 7 years have been the cause of the failure of this rebuild. That is directly on Tre.

For all the good stuff he’s done the results aren’t there. It’s 9 years, with 2 playoff round wins, time to move on

You know you are old and out of touch when you are referencing a metal concert while writing something that could be found in a Harlequin Romance novel in the same sentence.

It seems we didn't have a plan b and management and ownership are still recovering from Gaudreau's decision. Tomorrow we'll find out which of the RFAs are filing for arbitration. |

Interesting tidbits:
Murray Edwards was the one that stepped in & upped the offer to 10.5 per to stay.
-Dont think Edwards is a dummy, when he saw JG take $15-$16mill less he realized there was no intention to stay all along. Would love to be a fly on the wall of that convo between Edwards & Tre
-none of the team mates have tweeted good luck in Columbus but a few did for Gudbrandson. Something is wrong in that locker room
-Gaudreau is really back tracking about doing something special for Calgary fans. A little late, a little class & honesty would have gone a long way. This sh!t show has set the whole team on crickets since then. Gaudreau didnt need to play the organization like he did to get a good offer & its not like he hasnt made a Brinks truck load of money already. I think he realizes what he did is not a good look on him.
-Jarnkrok. WTF was this???? Yes he didnt perform as expected for the short time we had him. But the guy is close/family to your #1 C & #1 Goalie. You paid a steep price for him & you let him wlk for a 4 year 2.1 mill deal???? Telling me we couldnt have gotten a bit of a home town discount from him? WTF?
Yep, crickets on Mangi & Tkachuk & surely he must know if they are going to go arb or accept their qualifying offers or willing to sign long term.
Maybe Tre has already been neutered of his GM capacity by Edwards & it just hasnt been announced yet. Im in your camp now, maybe its time to go Chicago nuclear.

To tell you the truth I am glad they are taking the time to lick their wounds. Signing FA’s to large contracts is not something that Tre has had a lot of success with. |
