Of the forwards who played 400+ mins for the Pens last season, of which there were 15, Zucker was 6th in both HDCF% and xGF% at 5 on 5. In the playoffs he was towards the bottom of the list in both. Dude said he had to sit on a stool on side of bench because sitting on bench was too painful. He also played mostly with Crater too, didn't he? He was all F'd up. Contract year for him coming up, if he sticks around I think we see more production... If he says healthy hahah

it's a difference of $128k per year on his contract between Calgary and Columbus.

$5,224,000 take home per year in Ohio, $5,095,860 in Alberta. And I think the deductions for charitable donations or savings contributions in Alberta are probably a bit better than Ohio.



Now if we're talking Nashville or Seattle or Vegas, now we're looking at a swing of half a million dollars per year.

Against the grain I guess but I really liked how Zucker looked in his very limited play time last Reg season and playoffs... How were his underlying numbers?... I remember quite a few posts in the beginning of season and then quite a bit of production those games he came back and then got injured again same or next game hahah.

Saw an interesting Cap dump proposal on another Penguins forum. They had Pettersson, Marino, Kapanen and POJ to Coyotes for Chychrun and Crouse.


I myself found it interesting. I don't like giving up POJ, but could see where Chychrun would take his spot while dumping some salary. We would also bring in Crouse who was previously brought up on this site by a few of us as a potential powerforward type fit. I kinda see him and Kap being a wash, but overall I didn't mind having him on board. He may even fit in well with Letang on the top pairing.

You have to really compare the info between the two. Marino's overall % gets boosted by his penalties %. When it comes to creating offense, Chychrun blows him out of the water in G/60 and A1/60 while still having better EV def %.

I'm not saying this trade is wise, but Chychrun would be an upgrade on this defense.
