Yet despite all of this he wound up a +15, while playing tough shutdown minutes on a mediocre team.

You may want to recalibrate your eye test and find another place to get your fancy stats.

Typical, no substance to your retort. Booner has you pegged.

Well he’s no Schenn, but he was far from THE problem. I’d take Benn @ $750k over Myers @ $6m every day.

Not a (frank)ing chance. the Myers hate is hilarious.

They caused covid and the war in Ukraine?

Man, you just keep getting smarter.

- golfingsince

Biden definitely played his part in the Ukraine coup in 2014 along with Hillary and the state department. Then pre invasion when he wouldn't rule out NATO membership for Ukraine which the world knew was a red line. Biden was one of the biggest catalysts of the war.

Biden has a 40 year political history of being a war monger. Why are people so surprised... listen to his speech about how the people of Yugoslavia need to suffer and feel pain back in the 90's so they would overthrow their leader. He's always been a war mongering heartless evil SOB...

Other than Hughes & OEL the D was generally poor at break outs & when under pressure bailed by dumping out pucks. Created more puck possession for Ops if not icing.

Hughes faced more attention & did pretty good being the only D who could skate out pucks. If OEL had a better partner his poise would better suit us. Rathbone will be a big help & if his D has improved.

I don’t have to prove anything. Both yours and mine are opinions. BUT…

Tyler Myers is a middle of the road defenseman on the “advanced stat” scale. He doesn’t hold a candle to Jonás Siegenthaler or Darnel Nurse, but he’s much better than Erik Gusgranson or Noah Dobson.

As far as the eye test. He doesn’t defend well against the rush, ends up on his stomach flailing his stick too often because he isn’t quick enough to keep up a speedy winger going wide. He doesn’t defend well in front of the net, he’s too slow, guys have an easy time pushing off and creating space for open looks. He isn’t very good at making an outlet pass - off the boards and out, and while in the past he’s had decent offensive instincts, his offensive abilities are diminishing, like what happened to Edler.

Obviously I don’t actually think he should have to pay to play (like beer league), or that he’s actually the worst defenseman in the league.

You guys are slurping this up like Nighthawk’s secret burger sauce.

- 1970vintage

Wrong, your eye test needs new trifocals buddy.

Those things undoubtedly made it worse, but printing a poop load of money during covid didn't exactly help cool inflation either.
- Nucker101

It's a global phenomenon.
UK's is worse but Boris is his guy so he's not to blame.

Edit: why did they print money again? oh right, Covid

Obviously I’m kidding around. We all know that Quinn Hughes is the worst defender in the league.

Please take all this right wing/left wing bullpoop to the forums. (frank) the rednecks, inbreds, conservatives, liberals, democrats, and self righteousness from all sides.

I don't give a (frank) about who did what, what (frank)ing news source you get your opinioned political views from or if you predicted this poop when you came out of the womb.

I did start out with Please, so STFU or be banned.

does this go for the economics too?

I like talking about how stupid the Bank of Canada and US Fed are no matter which parties are running either country

Yes unfortunately, seems economics can't be discussed because some dippoop feels the need to voice their political views. Here is the link, and if that one doesn't meet the criteria of economics, start a new thread.

No worries, you know to engage in the other threads, and regularly do, it's really for the guys that seem to refuse or just want to push the boundaries in here.

But the warning is for all.

It's going to be interesting to see what the team will look like starting in Oct, sounds like a few guys had a good camp.

Hopefully they can stop rushing kids into the lineup and have actual NHL ready guys and just spot duty for the call ups. Basically no more gaudetting.

I'm more upbeat than last summer.

I think the team still has some pretty big flaws and they're still tight to the cap but you can see small changes in the direction of the team.

I see JR's influence in the decision not to make a panic move with Miller, Horvat or anyone else.

I'd feel much better if Benning had been fired a year earlier.

How Aquilini let any of the management or coaches come back after the 20/21 season is baffling. The road to the Stanley Cup final went through Toronto. Everyone should have been canned after that season.

For sure. No Green. Playoffs very likely.... my heart sank when Benning signed Green. Same heart break with the roster by the looks of it...

No Green, no OEL, cap space out the yin yang, a couple more prospects already in the pipeline.

Sure, plenty of opportunity for whoever came in to (frank) it up, but the path to actually improving was right there.

Allowing Benning to trade 3 expiring deals and 1st and 2nd round picks for OEL tells you all you need to know about ownership.

Hindsight for some I guess.

It's been an ongoing discussion about their abilities for years.
