Then just throw the guy they replaced that we can't trade on waivers.... maybe solve that problem lol - SMP8719
Yeah, I just edited, but two Russians and a midget Swede are all waiver exempt. |

Hopefully the management team is keeping an eye on potential bonuses, so they don't get carried over, year after year.
Currently about 2 million in potential bonus money could need to be paid out. |

I mean, you would hope that Kuzmenko at least achieves, and then if Podkolzin and Höglander do as well it would have been a good season. Key here is moving out salaries that are not performing, or get you futures (Miller) so that bonuses can be paid out this season. |

I don’t like the idea of moving out Garland for a D like I’ve heard. Pearson, Poolman and Richardinson are most desirable candidates to get out of town. I’d take a big haul for Miller, once Kadri signs market would pick up, otherwise keep him and roll till the deadline.
Like where the Canucks are this year. GCG! |

[quote=1970vintage]Not to Nighthawk standards but…
Boeser Pettersson Mikheyev
Garland Miller Kuzmenko
Pearson Horvat Podkolzin
Joshua Lazar Höglander
Richardinson
Hughes Schenn
OEL Myers
Dermott Burroughs
Poolman
Keeper
Demko
Martin
I don't hate it tbh.
Obviously the defense is worrisome and i'd like to move on from Pearson and Hoglander, but...
That's a decent top 9 on paper.
I like the PP and PK options we have up front. |

Hopefully, next press conference Allvin let's everyone know which players they are going after so that everyone knows their exact plan for the future. Who they plan on drafting in the 2024 2nd round. What they plan on extending Demko on his new contract would be nice.
Fans deserve to know. No secrets. 👍 |

None of the guys you want to get rid of, are tradeable unless you want to attach an asset to, to get rid of them.

Yeah, I mean you could probably trade any of those guys for next to nothing as I’m sure there is a team somewhere that could use a RHD, or some playoff experience.
But none of those guys move the needle as far as generating much cap space. By the time you replace them with a different player you’re gaining between $750k and $1.5m. Is it really worth it? Just be patient and let bad contracts expire naturally. |

I think you'll see some winger/s get moved. Garland and Hoglander two most likely candidates - NewYorkNuck
I think Hoglander stays based on age and salary. It would be foolish to move him. Garland is the teams second best 5 on 5 producer... plays with grit in the top 9... ideally you'd like to keep him but then there's the salary issue.
By not moving Miller, you may end up having to move players that could be in the long term plans for a player not in the long term plans...

I kind of like the idea of bundling up 3 or 4 bad contracts and getting 1 lengthy high dollar contract back in return |

Something more than platitudes about how they know the team sucks and are trying to fix it and at least make some changes beyond 4th line/6-7th D-men/AHL spare parts is all I'm asking for. The sarcasm isn't really appreciated considering the alternative was Benning and his mush mouth stuttering and no plan-plan that we had for years. |

Yeah? So a Poolman + Richardinson + Garland for:
Seth Jones?
I’m drawing a blank on some large $ long term inefficient contracts (that aren’t Canucks already). |

I believe they’ve already stated their position. As much as they can say without having an open door policy. Which is bad for business. Enjoy your summer, cheer for them in October. |

You share your thoughts on the team. I am pretty sure others are allowed to share theirs.
Obviously me being a millennial, I need my hand held and throw fits when I demand things to happen and they don't. I was promised stuff, it should have happened by now. |

Bad teams play bad players and turn them into picks at the tdl. Why can't Van play bad players? |
