Yeah. If you’re texting with RD, the only reason Jim got upset with him is because of the way he asked the Miller question. Dahli needs an editor to write his interview stuff for him… - 1970vintage
Rick and I both went to BCIT. He's too passionate sometimes, that can get you into trouble.

And look at free agents. Wingers were by far the deepest position. |

Canucks have only drafted 3 dmen in the first two rounds over the past 13 drafts
Canes and Avs have both drafted 9 in the first 2 rounds over that same span - Nucker101
In 7 of those drafts, the Canucks didn't even have a 2nd rounder, where many solid defensemen get picked. |

Our GM back then thought draft was a 4 letter word. Cup chasing cost us other than RIP Bourdon. |

Drafting has been a problem with the Canucks for a long time. |

Since 2010, If Canucks skipped the BPA W’s they took in the first 2 rounds, and instead drafted the next C/D selected, these would be the changed picks.
2011: David Musil over Nick Jensen (wash)
2013: Shea Thoedore over Hunter Shinkaruk (huge win)
2014: Haydn Fleury over Jake Virtanen (meh)
2015: Jack Roslovic over Brock Boeser (closer than it was 2 years ago)
2017: Nic Hague over Kole Lind (big win)
2017: Josh Brook over Jonah Gadjovich (meh)
2019: Victor Soderstrom over Vasili Podkolzin (tbd but I’d stick with Pod)
2020: Kaedan Korczak over Nils Hoglander (tbd but so far Hog more valuable)
2021: Francesco Pinelli over Danila Klimovich (tbd)
2022: Noah Ostlund over Jonathan Lekkerimaki (tbd)

It seems to be real difficult to acquire picks these days for VAN, hopefully that changes. Increase your odds.

Does a day or a page go by where you don't brag about knowing Rick D. What a claim to fame... |

Dmen take so much longer to develop so they need to be drafted early in a rebuild, even if you're lacking roster scoring unless you have a good young pipeline of D prospects. Aside from top picks where you have to go BPA, you need to build a strength in the system.

Even if they just had those few picks. I’d trade Boeser + Hog + Pod easily for Theodore + Hague + Roslovic + Soderstrom |
