If you are picking top 5-10 sure BPA can make some sense. Outside of that fill your needs. - LordHumungous

Regretfully the majority of high profile players prefer the US, taxes, anonymity etc. Tkachuk as you said is next, really sucks for the fans. - VanHockeyGuy
It does initially, but opens up a world of great possibilities with 20 mil to work with. Could get potentially 3-20 goal guys that can actually play playoff Hockey. The sooner Tkachuk is gone the better for that club. |

True. However watching the kid at Mom.Cup here he was unreal so I get why he went high. I overheard the players teasing him in the dressing room about being selected by EDM and he was f ucking pissed...

I called Johnny leaving years as at his RFA deal he wanted out. Best thing for CGY IMO would be to get that clown tool Tkachuk off to STL or wherever. With 20 mil off the books opens up massive possibilities for the Flames. Plus now they can acquire players who can actually preform in the PO's. Plus players who have the Hockey sense to let the puck just go in the net on it's own rather than kicking it in. - LordHumungous
You keep saying this, but who are they even hypothetically going to get? And how would that actually benefit them where they are in terms of age/cup aspirations?
No good/young UFAs left this year.
If they're trading for players to fill that space, then they're giving up assets which isn't productive.
If they're waiting to spend that money next year, they've lost a year in their competitive window (plus overpaying $$ and term for older players).
Opening up cap space is great when you're a younger team, rebuilding, or are looking to surround your locked-up core IMO. You shouldn't be happy in gutting your core to make cap space so you can maybe do something with it? |

You should probably just select an American team to cheer for sooner than later |

Lol. Get back to your own thread and whine about losing Gaudreau for nothing. Or if you're bored of that how about the 15 mil he left on the table to get away from the shiitshow in Calgary. - Load Management
Sorry was just trying to change the direction of the thread from Knot hate. Illl try to do better next time. |

That part is out of VAN's control. Just don't let him walk like JH and the others (VAN). |
