You're definitely in the category of Whiner. Raging constantly how bad this team is... can't back up your beefs with people talking about where this team really is compared to hyperbole and narratives.
Don't know why that question falls on me. I've sat back and laughed about all the narratives of how bad this team is, the big turn over and rebuild assumptions. People like you think Benning's roster needs to be dumped... it's not going to look significantly different regardless of the changes I or others would like to see.
The narrative that this management isn't buying into last seasons push is crumbling fast.... the team isn't getting overhauled... we would have seen major moves by now... the core will stay intact. tweaks...

Thanks Carol!

You are great at complaining but what’s your solution to the Canucks problems? - CanuckDon
A Miller trade that nets us a top 4 RD and maybe another asset would be nice. Offloading one of OEL or Myers would also help out our cap crunch. Again, if I knew all the answers, I'd be JR/PA, not some schmoe on a hockey rumour board, complaining about the team.
I just see this team and how bad it was last year, and how much had to go right just for us to get where we ended up at the end and I don't see it as sustainable or even reality. I think players like Miller, EP40, Hughes and Demko are going to either take a step back or else plateau where they are. I think injuries are going to decimate us by Christmas and with no depth to at least let us tread water until the lineup is back.
I think our D is at the VERY best, questionable, and horrid at worst. I think losing one of Hughes, Myers or OEL will cause us to slide down the standings faster than you can say K-Y Jelly. But again, I'm only a Joe Schmoe, and what do I know.

Clearly you haven't paid attention to the narrative? There's nothing wrong with the roster, aside from a couple of minor tweaks!

You should look around more at the rest of the league.

I think there needs to be changes to our D and some changes to the top 9. Not sure management sees past making the playoffs this season with the way the line up is constructed right now though.
I definitely want to see the biggest return on Miller possible and not see it diminish with time. I want to see a return that will help this team long term.
You are (frank)ing clueless. I never said there was nothing wrong with this line up or the situation it's in moving forward. But I definitely never though the core was going to be turned over.

I can imagine you fishing. waaah I have to pinch my barbs. waaah I have to let that fish go. waah no one is with me to tie my knots... maybe if you didnt have to hide from the CO's they could tie your knots.
Of course it's not easy, if it was we'd be contenders already. The problem is that when you say one thing and do another makes you lose credibility real fast.
- Sure, but it's a reach and overpay for someone who played with Matthews, Marner, Tavares et.al. and had a career season because of it. Kind of like going after a Brandon Sutter and signing him to a deal that he could never live up to no?
- Ok, I'll give them this, he's serviceable and for a 4th line center he'll be maybe a slight upgrade on Lammiko.
- Is he going to even play much though? I see him as another 13th forward like Ferland was before his injuries.
- Sure, but he has an equal chance of being a Vadim Shipachyov who doesn't even crack the final regular season roster as being as good as Panarin. It's praiseworthy of this management group to woo the most coveted Euro player to the team but it's definitely a risk. Much like Benning and his NCAA signings.
- Sure, but D still the same and no indication that anything might be imminent to address it. It's never been the forward position that was the issue. You'd like to see them have a bit more size and grit and balance up front but scoring wasn't an issue. The D core is so bad, it's an embarrassment and nothing has changed, it's fair to wonder if they really have the brass ones to potentially make a big trade to make big changes considering the history of the top members of the management group. - DariusKnight
Probably won't be top 6 here as well. He'll get a look like he should but ultimately his ice time will come from 3rd line and PK duty. Maybe 2nd PP unit but I'm skeptical that he provides that effectively.

Same role as in Hogtown. It’s a gamble he’ll earn his contract but we’ve the top 9 depth to help him. I’m guessing he’ll be a pleasant surprise & shuts up the fans who leap to negativity first. He’ll add to what we lacked in more than 1 way.
Feel free to disagree, if I'm wrong then I'll be the first one to eat crow and say you're right, but I'm not. We're closer to a bottom 10 team then top 10 right now. But hey, there's always room for you on the haters once you take off the rose colored glasses and take a look around the league and not just the Canucks. I want Miller gone because he's not going to sign here long-term and if he does, it's going to weigh us down for a long time while he declines. - DariusKnight

Decent add but not sure he's worth as much as he's getting paid. I'm always nervous about adding someone with only one decent season under their belt. He'll be a good tweak to the line up I'm sure.

I’m not concerned about his stats. Russians take awhile usually to acclimatize to a new culture. In his case playing in a fish bowl he survived & did fine & should be better for it. His interview he sounded positive & sure about himself.

I love barbless. I release most of what I catch, so it's great. Have one quick goto knot. Unlike you, it never fails.
