maybe the owner should not have named buffalo hockey heaven and promised money is no longer an issue and the sabres purpose moving forward was to win cups
Andrew Copp would've certainly pushed us up to....7th still? - Powerslave
The Sabres would be better and Detroit would be worse. If the Sabres have the same season as they did last year, what are we really doing here? As it stands it's hard to see them gaining ground on anyone

Wow , Detroit is now better than us, ..... in july
Didnt you watch and relate to the team last season since tuch showed up.
We have such a young team, most should be better then last season. More in synch with the coaching staff and each other.

OK, but he's not worried about "gaining ground" right now. They are developing their kids, many of whom will probably be better this year.
Not my words. They are his. This is the reality. Many don't like it. Many others understand it.

nope, tempered expectations given the last 11 years
I expect the best, sadly I thought they wanted to be the best as well
the room is clearly divided as those who wished a few decent moves happened are now the villains
I would think as a season ticket holder, you would want use to strive to at least be as decent as detroit and the sens given the cap space we had
if this team gets 70 points next season, what do you think should happen? - homiedclown
They've spent money like it was burning a hole in their pockets. Every year.
Stop with the "owners don't want to win" crap.
Their problem was that they thought being the richest owners in the league at the time meant buying up every free agent and winning would be easy. They were naive.
Adding players isn't the issue. It's adding the right players at the right time. Andrew Copp may be a fine player for what he is, which is a perennial 25-30 point player who just happened to have a career year on a stacked team in his contract year (gee, where have I heard that before?), and he's now worth almost $6 million a year?
I'm shocked about Copp, he was right in there in there price range and they wanted him before the trade deadline. - SABRES 89
when they traded for bishop's rights, I was called crazy for expecting them to only get to the floor
they said wait til july 13th
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING
now it's july 15th and we clearly are a cap floor team thanks to bishop, and those now decide to spend their efforts bashing those that wanted a meaningful addition or 2 with that 30 mil cap space
