A team with copp would have never worried about 65 points though right? 🤔 |

It's not desperate, it's filling out his lineup short term. Only difference there is we have young guys to fill out. He doesn't, completely. - TheSabresTaco
Acquiring 30% of your team yesterday = desperate |

I don't know if "desperate" is the right word but I know what you mean. If you aren't close to competing for the big prize but you have a ton of pieces in the pipeline then you don't go shopping unless it is for a piece that is potentially around when the window opens. This is what teams like Colorado and Tampa did.

Defense is suspect but their forwards they acquired should be good for this year at least.. Not sure how much longer Perron will be a top 6 guy for

I'm not following you, which spots did the Sabres have available?
Actual spots, where we see 100% sure the guy needs replacing?
Or add veteran leadership? - Boss34
One simple move would have been to buyout Bjork to make space |

One simple move would have been to buyout Bjork to make space - Hank Balling
I kind of assumed that he might go back the other way if we were to make a trade with a team like Philly for JVR. I don't see why they would buy him out - why wouldn't they just send him down and be done with his salary this year?

But that is still transactional thinking. The growth should translate into more wins this year, or it might not. I think at this time next year we will know a LOT more about this team and organization.

I stay the course. Get another top 3 pick, and blast all the trash to the moon. It means our core isn’t what we thought and adding a cat or copp wouldn’t of made a difference anyway |

Because of his age, his buyout is only 1/3, instead of the normal 2/3, so it's extremely cheap. He's also on a 1-way deal, so he's getting his money either way this year.

tuch, tage and skinner exceeded everyone's expectations last year
will they duplicate it?
odds are they take a step back and the others need to take a step or 2 forward
the construction of the roster really demands dahlin and power drive this team and I am not sure we have ever seen 2 d men ranked so highly a few years apart on the same team
I just hope the "good vibes" keeps adams focused on the fact that he will have to let some of these kids go when they do not turn the corner
target IMO is squarely on joker and casey this fall

Yeah, I guess. It just sounds so.... dramatic? You're not wrong - we don't know that he will fall in love with the kids like Darcy did, but that was such a different time and the team was at a different spot. Darcy thought that the guys we had were the answer and he was too patient with them. KA will have a ton of options in the coming years. |

Do the Sabres feel compelled to sign or trade for 6 new pieces out of 20 players in july? No
Botts sucked but the good players are good regardless of who drafted who.
Dahlin is a mega star in waiting?
Does that mean that botts is good?
