I would take the gaurenteed money now. Half a billion dollars would be good with me

That's not enough money, you didn't know ?

Was that his plan, or something he did in fact stumble in to?

Pretty obvious eichel was an issue when KA took over.
They tried to appease him with trailor hall ....

I'm sure he knew the feeling around here, the injury disagreement gave eichel an outlet to be moved.

You and I are in a much different position for a player that could easily make $50 million more in his career lol

So there was an issue, he didn't deal with it, made it worse, and then traded him for a fraction of what he would have gotten if he just did it in the first place? Got it.

He did start talking with teams about trading Eichel the year before he actually did, but he was unsure about the idea, then Hall said yes, and the rest is history.

Just a thought. Any chance we were going to trade for Murray and send him to Rochester? Cared more about 7OA and still planned on targeting Comrie? That's why Murray said no thanks.

You're still bitter about the trade.

Looks like KA did better than what we all expected

I don't understand why your expectations are so low. KA is no where close to my expectations of an NHL GM.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired John Marino from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Ty Smith and a 2023 third-round pick.
Marino had a goal and 25 points in 81 games while averaging 20:38 minutes last season. It was a strong showing and he's still young at 25. He comes with a $4.4 million cap hit through 2026-27 though, so the Penguins presumably wanted to shed his salary. Ty Smith still has one season left on his entry-level contract, so he's by far the more affordable option.

I’d have liked Marino here
But Smith is the equivalent of *at least* Samuelsson

Maybe they’d have liked Jokiharju over Smith?
That’s debatable though
Smith was a 1st round pick who’s been looking pretty good for Jersey

Idk that we could’ve beaten that offer
Marino would’ve been a great partner for Power if we could somehow make it work though

To Buffalo: Nic Hague, Vegas 2023 1st
To Vegas: Ben Bishop

- kingcong39

That trade makes no sense

It would give them another $5M of LTIR overage to sign Kadri along with the rest of their players.
- kingcong39

It would not give them extra Cap Room
That’s not how it works
Bishop would simply got on LTIR & BISHOP’S cap hit wouldn’t count
They don’t get extra cap room along with that

So they can clear cap space to sign Kadri

Taking on Bishop they can move him to LTIR to open up the cap space for Kadri

You also brought up a very good point!! Having to many Prospection a few years. That is a great thing. A team needs that player or players . You trade for nhl bodies or draft picks. That is a good problem to have.
