They need someone, other than a #1, to be better than Sam. - Lunaion
I'm pretty pumped with the offseason so far.
Kevyn told us what to expect and he delivered exactly what he said he was looking for.
In addition, it is clear from reports that he was trying on other deals but they didn't work out.
Oh well, poop happens, but if there is a downside to me it is that he may not be the best salesman for the club. He needs to fix that aspect pretty quickly if next season is the intended timeline to turn the tide and bring a guy or two in from FA.
To those who wanted more, I get it, I do. I don't agree that the timeline has come to do so, but I get the desire to improve more significantly. |

Looking forward to seeing this team grow, there's some very young players showing a lot of Maturity. I like the signing of Lyubushkin and Comrie I have hopes for. It's time for him to take his game to the next level in his development. Can he play more than 17gms in a season and carry or be close to his numbers from last year. Are you a starting goalie who can play 40 or 50gms if need be or are you a backup. |

Yeah, 39 posted about him above. Just adding Nadeau a 4th rounder. He really worked on his skating last year. He was a bull before that, he's a monster now. |

I really don't get why he does that!! I worked really hard for what I have and I enjoy it. Jesus I'm 55 not 25 or 30 I don't go out drinking or to bar's that much unless a band I like is playing or meeting people out!! Apologies didn't mean to talk your ear off. - Buff36
36, screw him dude.
He's a very judgmental person and has revealed himself to us over the past 24 months.
Don't let him bother you. People like him confuse being active with happiness. I find many of them to always be chasing happiness, but never being actually happy.
If you are happy, it is all that matters.
Keep on keeping on brother. |

When they drafted Nadeau, I really liked what I read about him and his progession since last year.
He is a guy I'm pulling hard for...would live to see him make it. |

Always will Bud!! Excited about the Sabres, just think they missed on a opportunity this year that really doesn't happen that often. But I am excited, they have a ton of talent up front. There Organizational depth at D is still weak and Goalie is decent. Probably take care of that D depth next draft, would have liked Warren or Luneau at 41 but there young enough up top to wait until next year. |

Yeah he had retired or took some time off, they signed him to a minors deal. Really the only reason he got a shot is because Donaldson got suspended and then hurt his Shoulder. Yankees bought Carpenters minor league contract and here were are 12HR's 27 Rbi's in 79 Abs later. |

I think KA has been very effective at lowering the expectation bar....shockingly good. $ is driving a lot of what's going on and obviously he's not going to say that. Slow and cheap doesn't bother me that much, but it's a bit insulting when the spending is below the floor. We're in the middle of a 3 year holding pattern just hoping prospects work out. All the decisions are being put off and we still have no idea if KA is any good at this.

Never heard of him and knew nothing about him until they picked him.
Won't even be 18 for another month.
Very, very early, but looks like a hell of a pick. |

To me, Adams speaks very much like a former veteran player.
Bases on past interviews, I'd much rather hear consistently from Ventura as the Sabres mouthpiece. |

I think he's too nice. Wants to make everyone happy and build consensus. That gets in the way when you need to make tough decisions. Would love to see just a little GMTM in him.

There’s a HUGE difference between simply making your point as opposed to repeating that point constantly *all day long* and *day after day after day*
That’s when it turns into obnoxious whining
And I’m not the ONLY ONE calling u guys out for it
There’s literally been over a dozen people commenting about it the last few days
EVEN STRIPES called out Sbroads for the constant complaining & negativity
Now that should tell u something - jdfitz77

I think they genuinely want to give their younger players a chance.
Perhaps Pegula’s pockets has something to do with it, at the same time they have 13 forwards right now for 12 spots. As it currently stands if Quinn and Peterka are to skate a regular shift they will have to bury somebody making decent dough.
This year is a make or break year for Mittelstadt, Joker, and UPL. Also, we will see if Tage’s season was a one off, or if he can be counted on as a bonafide top 6 Center option long term. Also another year to see what Cozens and Krebs will be able to bring to the table.
By next offseason there are less questions, and it’s not like the salary cap flexibility is going anywhere.

You may turn out to be 100% correct, but I see it completely different.
I also do not have insider info, so I can't proclaim to know what is going on inside the inner circle. Also, if finances are driving the bus, I can't blame them after having attendance and therefore Revenues plunge for a combination of reasons, while expenses remained very high.
I however dont believe finances are driving the bus completely...influencing yes, driving no.
Rather, I believe the organization has done a complete reset; focusing on a realistic timeline and proper investments tied directly to the timeline. The timeline, and therefore correlated investments are driven by the development process.
So, you are right that finances at this time are being withheld/limited ... but it is to enable the development and evaluation processes to accelerate...not the opposite of finances controlling investments for the sole purpose of making the P&L Statement better. |

Meh, whether you’re Buffalo or Colorado I don’t think it’s ever wise to spend big dough on July 1st.
Even the Filip Forsberg’s of the world will have contracts that age terribly.
Draft and develop your own talent, use free agency to address bottom 6 depth, and use trades to put you over the top.
The Sabres have more than enough assets if they want to acquire someone in a trade.
Next offseason the best prospect pool in the league will be another year older too and ready to contribute more. |
