Rochester or back to the Cezch league imo.

Already playing against men and doing quite well, don’t think he needs to go play in the crappy QMJHL

- Pegullaville

Like to see him playing in Rochester with Rousek

For as cheap as he's predicted(1 for $2M or 2 x $3.5M) it would be a good move. He still ended up with 52 points last year for Arizona. That's a bargain for that production
- Wetbandit1

I’m good. We have a good locker room that works hard each practice. Kessel is known to not put the effort in. I don’t care about points, as much as I care about a hard working locker room.

From the outside looking in I believe the GM is doing his players a disservice not bringing in a quality goalie. This team can really take some steps forward if they had that.

Players play differently when they know they have someone to count on in net. This team is poised for a breakthrough. Need that goalie.

- furio16

Ok, who is that goalie?
Gibson said no?
Who else said no, probably others.
Who others.

It’s not our job to figure out who.

They didn’t get an established goalie. End of story.

Comrie could be good. He could also be AHL caliber

Think if Comrie can atleast carry those numbers or be close to those for 25gms I hope we are good. Comrie 25 Anderson 20-25 UPL comes up and plays 30-35gms or he breaks a toenail and plays 6 and we are back to square one

who does he replace in the top 9

skinner,tage,tuch
casey, krebs, olofsson
peterka, cozens, quinn, asplund

that's 10 for the top 9 already

if your not going after a 4 year upgrade, why go after a 1 year upgrade

- homiedclown

Not saying they'll do it, but it's an upgrade.

Peterka and Quinn are maybes since they don't have an NHL sample

Asplund is very good defensively, not sure that qualifies as an upgrade.

Kessel had 5 goals at 5v5 and was an absolute disaster with/without the puck. He's got a bunch of secondary assists likely resulting from receiving way more ice time than someone of his caliber should be, because Arizona.

I saw a couple comments about the devils pens trade that was ty smith for Milano

I think the devil's got the better player and much more sound defensively. With Nemec, Hughes and with Hamilton will allow an offensive minded defender to be paired with a stable defensive dman

Ty Smith came in hot but regressed a lot and was a big liability especially defensively and couldn't make it to be on the devil's 2 PP unit and the devil's PP was terrible

Ty may never be good defensively but maybe can turn it around offensively but he was starting to enter the will butcher area

Sometimes you just have to make smart trades

Oof. We are certainly acquainted with the "Will Butcher area".

Devils fans should be pretty happy right now. Would've been interesting if the landed Gaudreau. Competitive division, but you'll start to make some noise soon.

Dude how old are you? Because I sit on my back porch I am not enjoying myself. Was out myself today at the Hamburger Fest and then and went and got some Angelo's at the fest, got back about hour or so ago. I really don't get why you take your little jabs about what I do in my Life. Worry about you Dude!! Must not be having to much fun in your life if you're constantly worried about other people's.

I was gonna make the comment that Ty Smith was absolutely terrible this year but the person It would’ve been in response to wouldn’t have been worth it

Holy hell, not a chance. There is a reason Arizona couldn't move him last year. We are trying to build a team that is hard to play against.

Seems to me that the Pens went younger & cheaper with offensive upside
It’s reasonable for them in theory
But Marino is clearly the better defenseman

It was almost as low two years ago. id say its trending where it normally does with age. If anything the 15% he had a year ago as his career high was comical.

Agreed
We should want nothing to do with Kessel

There’s not 1 forward in our projected lineup I’d want him over

Last thing we should want is a “Kessel”

Asplund's more of a 4th liner shutdown guy on a good team.

Kessel also shot less than half of his career percentage. The last 5 years are 4.6, 17.4, 9.2, 12.6, 13.0. Doing that again is not expected. He would've had 19 goals if he shot his career average last year. He played 2nd/3rd line tweener minutes. Barely over 13 at 5v5.

For 1 x $2M I'm taking a flier every day.

Right, why should they care about offense on the cheap? They have all the offense they need. 22nd in GF is more than enough. More sandpaper, that'll show'em!

It's not like I'm saying for him to be on the top line or anything. Put him on the 3rd line and out in offensive situations.

Phil the Thrill doesn't seem much like a KA kind of guy. Though I don't think he'd be bad in the locker room, (unless guys were to take training and nutrition cues from him), he'd seem to fall into the category of "guys who are indifferent to be here".
