Not finding out about Mitzy and UPL were my least favorite things about last season. Going from 31 to 24 was nice and all, but the climb gets harder from 24 upwards. Lowered expectations is my just gonna have to be my coping mechanism.

Think we have to like what is going on, they are building something here. Adams, Ventura and Co. Obviously look to be very good talent and analytical evaluators.

Like number 4, looking forward to seeing this kid mature. I really think we hit a Grand Slammie with this kid.

How good can JJ be, when he makes his transition to the lineup who on the roster and what line does he fit.
- Buff36

I need to see JJ a few more times. Krebs I’ve got briere. That’s a fair comparison to playing styles.

Jj. I can’t lock down yet. He’s fast decently skilled. A less talented kucherov ?

More senseless violence. Heart goes out the Victims and there Families. And to the Bystander who showed the Courage to say this is Enough. Thank You, you probably saved lives. Everyone needs to have there senses on alert, take care of the ones closest to you. Country has become a bigger version of the Wild West. I know this sounds corny, just tired of reading this kind of stuff. Even more know you have to take care of your own.

Some decent names on that list. Wonder if any could be had. Would like me some Lawson Crouse. Think a line of
Crouse Cozens Peterka could be very fun to watch.

Who would you move out to make room for Crouse?

I would go after Bratt.

But results really do matter, Sabres have a lot of prospects and they look to have a lot of talented ones. Gonna be a flow coming up to Rochester very shortly. They have some decisions they will need to make. Is Mitts still part of it, are Power and Joker the right duo. Gonna be interesting how Adams and Company handle the next 2yrs when that flow hits. We have a very young team, they need to figure there core or they will have young guys blocking young guys.
- Buff36

The way I see it, either the -"young guys blocking young guys"
Or the
-blocked young guys
become trade bait.
If the blocked guy is better, he stays on an ELC and the older guy on an expiring ELC or on a Bridge deal is dealt.

The is absolutely no problem here other than fans strong desire to achieve a playoff position this year.
I get it, don't agree with it but certainly get it.

I have never stated my goal was for this team to make the playoffs this year. I stated IMO they missed a opportunity to help there team this year. And actually it should be every Teams goal to make the playoffs. When is the last time the Sabres tried to do that!!

Difficult to ask of civilians to do so, however if more carried and reacted this way; I wonder if it would cause these demons to think otherwise.
Probably not, but at least he saved lives.

Don't take the comment personally, while it was posted in response to your post; the comment applies to a broad base of posters...many of whom are militant about signing a number of players and fail to accept the fact KA tried and had deals in place but the PLAYER refused to come here..."NO EXCUSES!"

Having wave upon wave of successful prospects become NHL-ready is a GREAT problem to have and we should expect much better returns than trading the 28th pick.

Patience and trust the process...it too was mocked roundly in here.

hearing the donnie story on cozens at the draft and prospect camp is one more reason why I think casey is the first to get phased out

I see cozens more as a Anthony Cirelli type shut down guy, and that is fine as we have 3 other centers to take the second line slot

It is a good thing with the prospects, but the bad thing to it is with such a young team, will they even have there core set in 2yrs, that's when the blockage hits and the cycle repeats itself, Adams has to make quicker decisions and they might suck to do it, but he has to prove he can. And for as much as I think he's doing a good job, that's something he hasn't done.

flip side

don't say you can't get a long term goalie because you don't want to block an unsigned prospect

and while doing that, possibly blocking either peterka or quinn by retaining and not trading any of the guys up front on a team that finished 24th in scoring

if it was a constant message, fine but it's not

Interesting topic.
What would you need to see from Mitts in order to keep him?

Well, from everything we have seen so far, his trades have been pretty good given the circumstances...Sam, Risto and the Jack.

I'm not yet sold on his ability to "sell" the story to players to convince them to come...Levi, Portillo, Johnson, Murray, Gibson.

So the UFA aspect is more concerning to me presently. Hopefully, he doesnt have to go big game hunting for a 1C as an example...rather coloring in the edges for Mason Marchment type players. That should take care of itself if they continue to play well and reveal themselves as a team ready to take the next steps rather than a team who played well the last 30 games of the season.
