If the Sabres are picking 3rd, most likely the season went horrifically with everything going wrong. Goaltending a continuing failure, Dahlin and Power disappoint, Thompson and other forwards regress. Good vibes evaporating and KA on the hot seat?
- PrinceChill

I'd love for them to finish with 12th and lottery luck into 1 or 2.

Is what it is homie, I am with you and think the Sabres missed on a opportunity. There are still opportunities out there, be surprised if we took them. But let's hope for progression and not regression this year.

I said at the time of the bishop trade, it was to get to the floor, nothing more, nothing less

signing anderson before ufa began also was a sign they were not interested in really doing much

those 2 moves set the tone for the non drafting portion of the off season

I think the 3 on notice would be casey, joker and maybe olofsson (given it was only a 2 year deal)
- homiedclown

Olofsson is the perfect trade contract, especially if we ate some, help get to the floor next year.

Yeah, not trying to stop what you're feeling, I really get it. Time to move on and hope what they are doing works. There is a lot of Talent there. I am angry but I am gonna try and look at the Future

65 point production for a full season

honestly it's a character thing for me

when you come into camp out of shape, you are not a guy I want to build around

he can say whatever he wants but at the end of the day, his numbers are down, injury prone and I do not see him as a second line center on a cup winning team and I think we would be better to move on from him for the development of cozens and krebs

maybe a full season on the wing would be good for him

- homiedclown

65 points = .80 ppg.
Reasonable.

I agree with your Cirelli comparison for Cozens, hopefully he can bring some additional goals though...25 from him in that role would be great.
I'd pair JJ and Tuck with him this season and let Olo play with Tage and Skinner...he played great with them to close out the season.

I'm not sure where Casey fits in TBH with you. I hope he can bring some production to make him far more attractive. He and Krebs seem to be redundant at this point. Can Krebs-Mitts-Quinn be a line (forget for a moment who is playing C) and not get caved?

Does anyone in the NHL have more pressure to perform this year than Jack Eichel?

They lost Patches, Tuch, Krebs and a 1st for him.

Not saying he can't meet expectations but he really needs to show up this year

That's not the picture in my head, but hopefully JJ is that player as Peca says

I have tried to go through every possible line combination and part of me can only a way where asplund is in the top 9 due to lack of defense from these guys

maybe blow it up and roll 4 lines close to evenly

skinner-tage-tuch
asplund-casey-quinn
peterka-cozens-krebs

and Dadonov and whatever prospect went with patches.

Agreed - nobody has more pressure this season.

And that owner is an impatient man. Gotta think Eichel needs 90 points minimum to keep the temperature down

was on the phone with donnie at the draft

donnie said it's up to you to teach these guys how to be a pro

cozens stepped up and flew into town and spent time with them

he shows at the very least, assistant caption material

- homiedclown

That’s good to hear. I agree. Definitely assistant captain material. Shame that Eichel couldn’t do that

Yeah, he’s talked a big game but never really shown what he could do for a full season.

You can act like a top elite center all you want. But you need to produce like one.

It also doesn’t help. He is always hurt.

Curious why they had to move 17m of cap space for Eichel.

Not that I wish injury on anyone but I’m curious to see how his neck holds up for a whole season. He’s kinda the Guinea Pig for that procedure in the NHL.

There's been at least 2 more since him. Funny how there was barely a word spoken on them.
