Sam, Ullmark, and Montour are the egregious ones. - Lunaion
Are you freaking kidding me?
Sam was the result of years of bad management. He had understandably had enough.
Ullmark was similar. He would have stayed but he told them they had to overpay for him to stay.
Montour. Seriously? |

I hope you're seeing that signing them to 1 year deals put them in those situations. They dug their own hole, no shock that they also fell into it. |

I just outlined why you'd doubt them. KA let an entire age group of players under team control leave for a fraction of their value. If you screw it up first time around, you deserve a healthy dose of skepticism the second time. - Lunaion
Who are these undersold Ayers he let go?
Seriously, not being a wise guy, I'm not following. |

The egregious one for me is Montour. He was pretty decent, but was redundant with Risto at the time.
I called it out several times back then that they needed to trade one or the other. At that time, wasn't that on Botts?
Then Adam's traded him for a 3rd after Krueger fvcked his value with scratches and playing wing, playing left-side.
He got decent value for Sam, IF Levi plans out.
Ullmark was a failure akin to the Drury Briere fiasco. |

Just how long do you think that Adams has been running this team? The organization completely messed up Reinhart. That said, I still think he would have wanted out but we could have gotten a little more for him if he had more term left. He didn't walk away, we got value back.
Also, you forgot that Ullmark had issues staying healthy and there was probably some desire to not get locked into a long-term deal with a guy that can't stay on the ice.
Montour? That's the proof that you started with your belief and tried to work backwards. I don't even know if we wanted to keep him. We traded him and got something back. Based on his next deal it doesn't seem like he was in demand in any way.

Ullmark was fine. I’m not sure why people care he left. He’s done nothing on the bruins that says we should miss him |

I wouldn't blame him being out of shape 3 years ago as to why he had down numbers.. He looked the part at the beginning of last season and then got sidelined by a freak injury.
That being said I can't see anyone being mad for moving on from him. He could probably use new scenery and we need space for the rooks. - DirtyDan

I just remember most fans having heart attacks and saying he couldn't stop a beach ball.
I was shocked when Boston gave him that contract, now they want to get rid of him but can't.
All gloom and doom. |

didn't the soccer czar play him as a winger for stretches of games?

Then you should be jumping up and down raving about at least this draft class.
They have their "prospect profile" and from the early reviews, it seems the profile is a good one.
This team is headed in the right direct at last. Obviously a bit slow for some.
I'm very good with letting this season play out. |

I would take 41 starts and anything close to a 2.45Gaa and .917 save %. Anything close to that and we win 10-12 more games last year. |

This whole line started with the idea that they've been too indecisive with prospects and their hesitancy has hurt them.
The market valued Ullmark at 4x5. We got nothing. A year earlier, when he was under team control, and they had the opportunity to move him or give him a multi-year extension, they opted for a 1 year. That's inexcusable asset management by a rookie GM.

There are a greater number of interesting players to watch this season than last…hopefully…roster is not yet set. |

Their Prospect Profile started with Quinn, an all-in kinda guy who wants nothing but to become the absolute best he can be and is driven to succeed at it. It is a winner's trait.
They doubled down on it with many other picks since then.
Not all will make it, but this team is going to be absolutely stacked IMO. I absolutely love the prospects coming at them in waves.
It is why I can hang in there for another year.
As the elder poop-head in the posting group, I should be the one screaming for immediate results, but I see the plan and agree with it. |

I like a lot of what is going on to, a lot of talent coming up. It's a important couple years for this Organization. |
