What's a deal with Calgary for an extended Tkachuk look like? I'll start:
2023 unprotected 1st, Quinn or Savoie, and Samuelsson
Sounds like a prelude to a Tkachuk trade out of Calgary.
Have to maximize the return this time.
1st-rd pick, A-list prospect, promising young NHLer, older NHLer with high AAV to make the $$ work. That's the floor.
Maybe more for a 24-year-old who was 8th in NHL scoring.

He doesn't fit the timeline. He is turning 25 this year, but the time we are good, he will be almost 30. |

We should go sign that Larsson guy
50 point shut down 4th line centers are hard to come by
A player like this is once a generation
7x7
Might as well be Bergeron |

It's fun, but with an extension, he has control over where he goes. Probably looking at Mark Stone trade value.

Gotta draft high this year, you know, two years after drafting #1 overall, 5 years after drafting….#1 overall to really think about competing |

but not 1 artificial disk
wasn't a good look to players around the league, especially piling on everything Lehner had to say about their medical staff - Lunaion
Wonder how the evaluation is going?
Is this another 24 month endeavor, like making trades is? |

Throw them in too. Then sign OG cause he'll score more than the both of them.
Would you go over 8x7 for Larry? Do you think he'd take a hometown cut? |

With team induced Arb, does that walk him to UFA status at the end of the term? He's only 24, but I don't know how Arb impacts that aspect. |

He can accept a 1-year arb award and skip to St. Louis next year |

No impact. He's only 24, but has 6 full seasons in the NHL. He'd be UFA next summer.

I am failing to see the logic in the team taking him to Arb.
I know they get another year to try to negotiate a contract, but If UFA status is the result, why would he sign then and not now? Maybe they can work a trade over the next year? That would seem to ve high risk for the acquiring team.
I'm not following. |
