Here's a hypothetical -
Let's say the Sabres had let Eichel get his surgery, and that he would have been true to his word and played for the Sabres again to prove he's healthy. If he had the same season with Buffalo that he had with Vegas (25p in 34gp), do the Sabres do any better in a trade than they did?
I'm not at all sure sure they do any better.
In some ways, his future is still a massive unknown - Hank Balling
I’d love to have the Jack eichel talent vs tuch, krebs and ostlund i just don’t want Jack eichel the person. |

I don’t know
You’re missing the point though
And that is that I JUST DON’T CARE
I’m good with the return we got for Eichel
And he’s gone now
It’s been long enough that i certainly am not interested in talking about “What If….” on the matter
How did this even become a topic today?
Let’s just move on from Eichel
Again…. for the people in the back….
He’s gone now, Let’s move on |

7 years, $73M total ($10.4M AAV) with a lot in bonuses and an NMC. - kingcong39
Seems pretty low to me, given the Twins are at 8 × $11.2.
No one can do 8 yrs now though, so maybe.
What's the asset cost going out?
2 -1sts unprotected young player, A-prospect? |

Are u talking about Tkachuk here?
He’d be costly to trade for, for sure
And i could see both sides of the argument
I like him, & would probably be willing to do it
But would the Sabres?
We did miss out on Fiala & DeBrincat, who were traded for (presumably) less assets than Tkachuk |

Craig Anderson has been in the league for 20 years, that's pretty damn established IMO - macman9
He’s played a total of 69 games over the past three seasons and he’s 41.
I’d say what we’re going to get out of him is completely unknown |

I think Mittelstadt has a higher level of skill with a broken motivator while Cozens undoubtedly has better speed and intangibles. Cozens has the floor but I still think Mittelstadt has the ceiling if he can put it all together.
I like both of them for the record; I just think the narratives have spun out of control a little bit to this point - Hank Balling
Cozens isn't as good as people think. I would sell high. Since the NHL has such a hard on for him. |

The Sabres won't be good for another 6 years? JFC!!! - kingcong39 3 to 5, would put him at 28 to 30, close to turning 30.
Just pointing out how some sound when they say we can't have nice things. |

Sure kiddo
Angry poster alert
Eichel had similar sandy vag syndrome
You guys should seek help
Thatguy and theotherguy - Boss34
I never agree with this guy, and he probably deserves a ban for patronizingly calling man and women kiddos.
But yeah, (frank) eichel. Eichel is a female genitalia. |

How apropos ; all Sabres HockeyBuzz wisdom should be contained in these two words - Patience and Trust |

He has excelled at every level so far up to the NHL. He came straight from Jr 's to the N ... it is going to take some time. I would not count this kid out.
He is a Peca, Cirelli, and hopefully becomes Drury in his ability to contribute under pressure and lead.
IMO, he's a keeper. |

I don't see cozens hitting 60 points. That's just me. And it seems others are catching on(not referring to just this board)
He has excelled at every level is a false equivalency, so I'm not even going to address.

Peca was the best captain in Sabres history whose career high for us was 56 points. If this is Dylans ceiling, points wise, leadership and intangibles, it's an absolute win for this franchise. |

Girgensons type stats
Prior to last season:
Andrew copp 411 gp 61 goals 98 assists
Zem girgensons 489 gp 61 goals 73 assists
And you're upset we didnt give copp 28 million
Take a look at those numbers and tell me you want that guy at 3 times girgensons salary and 5 more years 😀 - Boss34
Never said I was upset, said he could have helped, and he's a better Hockey player than Girgensons, so I probably would have thought about it. |

Why would you want a better players than Girgs when you could just extend Girgs?
