Most points Stone has had in a season is 73
Tkachuk has beat that twice, and last season had over 100pts
It seems pretty clear that bc of Tkachuk’s offensive upside, he’ll get a better return - jdfitz77
stone has been a ppg player for the last 5 years
the other, not even close until this year |

I see cozens as the third liner, if we get decent - homiedclown
Cozens has higher offensive upside to Girgs imo
I see Cozens more like Drury
If he’s our 3C, we’ll be in really good shape most likely |

Well isn't that what 3/4 of the board has said we can't bring in this player or that player because they would block a prospect. |

Isn’t the discussion about what Stone got in a trade vs what Tkachuk will get?
Using Stone’s stats whil on VGK have nothing to do with the trade value he had when Ottawa moved him |

I hope he develops a 2 way game like Anthony Cirelli |

stone was better than a ppg player in each of his last two years with the sens
Tkachuk broke out this year |

when we signed bishop, they said wait for free agency, to see what happens
now they say we didn't need player x or y
trust the 11 year miserable process
BE NICE |

Not really
It’s twisting things
A guy like Copp for example, can block a young player with a higher upside from being here
We don’t really have anyone with higher upside than Tkachuk though
He would add significantly to the top end of our talent pool, and that would be worth it
Copp, Marchment, etc etc are 3rd liners on a good team
There’s quite a difference |

Tkachuk also had a season with 34goals & 77pts in 80games
That’s pretty damn good |

Not sure if you saw earlier, or maybe I missed it, but why is he worth double what Stone got in a reasonably similar situation? - Lunaion
I mean couldn’t one theoretically use Debrincat as a comp? Wingers have seemed to not get their worth going on a couple of trades now. |

I’m not saying i don’t like Copp
He is a decent player
I just don’t care about the race to 9th place though
The way we get to be *legitimately* good is by developing our young talent that we’ve been drafting
Last thing we wanna do is turn Cozens into Girgs bc we need to bring in 3rd line quality guys to play ahead of him

What is the point you’re trying to make here?
Is it that Tkachuk isn’t good?
Bc he is good- really good |

Copp is a good hockey player, been in the Selke voting 3yrs in a row, his offensive production has gone up 2yrs in a row, he could help this young team. And what am I twisting about blocking prospects that was said even before Copp or Tkachuk were brought up. |

Sure, but the presumed extension is a big part of this.

True
But all the experts also said that Chicago didn’t get enough in that deal either
Tough to say exactly what Tkachuk will get,
but I’d think it’s safe to say it’ll be significant |

Ok
But the discussion was about what we’d have to give up to get Tkachuk
You’ve kinda been all over the board here
What do u think it would take to get Tkachuk?
And should we do it, or not? |

Same thing was said about Buch and Sam (not comparing them to him, but along with Debrinct those would be the 3 highest profile wingers) |

Bc anyone who said stuff about blocking prospects was not sayin that in reference to bringing in a high end talent like Tkachuk, DeBrincat, Fiala, etc |

And what if he says (frank) off Calgary, I’m going to go where I want in 12 months. You can figure out if you want to trade me now or then. Tough to say, but the only team that would feel comfortable with him would be St Louis on a one year deal imo |

Hey, if Tkachuk comes even cheaper than projected, than I’m all for it
I’m for it even if we have to give up “a lot” |

Why keep talking about him, no chance in hell he comes here and the Sabres won't pay him or the other 2 guys you mentioned. They didn't even have interest in getting them. |
