You are the only one using Jedi mind tricks.
you and Powerslave love to take things to a whole new level in which nobody actually has said and turn it into something. - ImThatGuy
Well, you said it was his job. It isn't like these players are doing tours of the cities and facilities.
All of this stuff is nonsense anyways. We are building from within and we don't have to throw stupid money at people. It doesn't matter what the league really thinks of us right now (although from what Comrie said, it isn't like what the sword swallowers here are saying). People want to come to winning teams.

So are we giving Adams credit for trying? - ImThatGuy
No, but at the same time he can't be killed for (allegedly) not trying. He has a plan.

that ship sailed when we traded for bishop, and then kept the band together to get to the floor
it's not about icing the best team, it's about being afraid to make hockey decisions - homiedclown
The best decision of the summer so far was the Olofsson contract. It's the perfect trade contract. |

so Colorado whos team was primarily made up of traded players was "Draft and develop" - ImThatGuy
4 impact players from the draft
bryam, newhook,
and lots of trades
so 1/4 of the roster was homegrown

Holy s, you've moved on to this? Now it isn't being cheap, it is being afraid to make hockey decisions?
By your logic, if he was "brave" and made hockey decisions (whatever that means), could I then call him afraid to build from within?
You believe he should on a different plan - that doesn't make him a coward or you brave. |

that would require a few hockey trades to happen
right now it's all about trading players for futures |

For once we agree - there was no shopping for high-priced free agency. It is good that you've come around to my side.

40 mil cap space
all kinds of picks and prospects
a gm's wet dream
you can't just hold onto the ball forever, you have to throw it once in a while
at the time of the bishop trade when many of us said floor move, didn't you say wait for free agency?
it was a floor move |

Colorado had the 4th lowest payroll at this point in their build. They need to know that they missed out on a wet dream.

pretty sure nobody was screaming for high priced johnny hockey
mid level player or 2 instead of bottom feeders was what others want, which of course you have no issues brow beating them on a daily basis |

You didn't get the memo that hockey trades are not possible in the future. We missed our chance.

I think everyone agrees that a guy like Copp would have been great. Other than that.... they didn't fit (or we couldn't get it done).

Actually why I brought up Olofsson, perfect trade chip with that contract. But got to be willing to use it to. |

when you have guys like power on entry contracts and guys like dahlin on bridge deals
that's when small market teams use the cap to their advantage instead of holding onto the ball

neither took 11 years between playoff series
this franchise has set the lowest bar ever in the NHL
you got a zillion prosects now from sh!tty seasons in the pipeline
everyone says 1 more year, every freaking off season
time for the team, the gm, the owner, to put their big boy pants on and start competing again instead of looking like Oliver and say thank you may I have another for each seasons lottery picks - homiedclown

I think everyone agrees that a guy like Copp would have been great. Other than that.... they didn't fit (or we couldn't get it done). - Slump Buster if you went after a legit goalie, copp and klingberg
your only out the assets to get a goalie
and you can move a couple of guys to get futures
this would have improved the team long term and short term and kept us in great cap space
adams had zero desire to even pick up the phone to try to do that, which is my issue
and I am not buying the attempt to get gibson |

I agree homie, like I said I believe they missed a opportunity this off-season. I am just gonna see where this takes us, of course with a little b!tching and Whining here and there. See how the plays out. |
