doesn't matter to me if they go, Pegula is the one that should be worried. Can't keep rebuilding years after years, yes I said years. We have been rebuilding since the embarrassment of Briere and Drury.
- SABRES 89

That’s not factually correct
There was no “rebuild” immediately after the Drury & Briere fiasco

The FIRST rebuild started just before we drafted Reinhart & tanked for McEichel
Obviously that one was a bust, thanks mostly to the hole GMTM put us in

This is the 2ND rebuild, & it’s beginning was signaled by the trading of Eichel, Reinhart & Risto

To CGY Tuch, Krebs, Ostlund 2nd
To BUF Tkachuk and a 3rd

Just figured Tuch is pretty comparable to Tuch

- mattmoulson

It would be for more than that. He is a great player...... I pass. Stay the course.

I know we all hate Eikl but Eichel the hockey player is better than Tkachuk. Eichel the person maybe not.

Eichel at five years left on his deal Tkachuk has one year for free agency

Teams have virtually no cap for him so cap dumps are coming back to Calgary.

I don’t see them getting an Eichel style return for him

- ImThatGuy

They absolutely will. The tricky part is that teams have to figure out a way to slot that big contract into their payroll for the next few years, like all good teams do. Vegas doesn't have the assets but lots of other teams do. The guy bri gs a ton to the table.

Lololol, oh beady….

I like Tkachuk,
but there’s no chance we’d consider trading Dahlin

Especially since we have all kinds of good forward talent coming & not much on defense

Said the exact same thing earlier today.

Like the player, wrong position IMO.
I also don't need my #1 player being the guy going to the box in order to get the physical side of the game in the F ranks either.
I do love watching him play though...would be fun.

We have wing prospects coming up over the next 3 -- 4 seasons, including C's who will fall out.

Go find a true 1C.

You remember what it took Buffalo to find what they thought was their number one Center last time, right?

Finding a top line Center is right up there in terms of difficulty with finding a number one defenseman, and the Sabres have taken two defenseman at number one overall in recent drafts.

Aside from drafting number one or two overall, what is the plan to find a number one Center?

I said before the draft that the payroll for next season will be between 62 and 65 mill, as of now it's 62.5
- SABRES 89

It was VERY obvious after the Bishop trade that Adams signaled his intention to be a Cap Floor team.
Respectfully, no insider input was needed to understand that.
Those who thought and hoped for different were asleep.

How does his purported desire to go to St Louis affect the trade return.
Why would any of the other 30 teams trade for him IF that is true?
Maybe Army gives some value, but I question why he wouldn't just wait a year and save those assets.
Meh, it is what it is.

You'll love this answer:

Not my job, that is Adams' job.
Do your job Adams,. No excuses!

Sounds totally ridiculous doesn't it?

Edit:
To answer properly, it will be very difficult and likely come with baggage of some sort. Perhaps the Sabres will have the young assets in another couple years to deal for one.
I loved the Savoie pick and hope he can play up to that level in time. His size likely scared a GM or two off. It is an uphill battle for him to climb to that ring, but hopefully he has it in him.

Here’s the thing that is the definition of a GM’s job.
it is his job to make the team better it is his job along with the scouting staff to draft good players and it is his job to attract free agents and make good trades.

If we are going to give Adams credit for trying than Murray and Botterill also have to get credit for trying. We can no longer say any trade is a Tim Murray type trade because Tim Murray tried just as Adams is trying.

If this team is middle to bottom of the pack after quarter of the season it is 100% fair to ask why talent was not added to the roster.

Let's see where it goes.

It's the GM's job to wipe the stink off of 5 years of dung his predecessors and owners heaped on the perception of the franchise. That doesn't happened quickly.

What I think is entertaining from the No Excuses crowd is the absolute refusal to give consideration to the enormous obstacles the guy has had to overcome...all because "I want immediate gratification" mindset. It is quite hilarious.

Yes he does have his limitations and hurtles.

My concern is that this team is a budget team, that’s not on the GM that’s on the owner.

For being touted as one of the best hockey markets in the USA, we are acting like Ottawa of the past and Arizona trying to keep payroll extremely low.

How many ex-players and ex-coaches and ex-gm's are on the Pegula payroll still?

They're probably shelling out quite a few bucks to people who aren't even employed there anymore.

I don't blame 'em for being cheaper. But it is their fault they have to be.

The owner said they are going to be economic and efficient not me.

They are penny pinching this team while they make money hand over foot in their other two industries.
