My concern is that this team is a budget team, that’s not on the GM that’s on the owner.

For being touted as one of the best hockey markets in the USA, we are acting like Ottawa of the past and Arizona trying to keep payroll extremely low.

Buffalo was a hockey-crazed market, gut the organization has certainly tested that support to the max over the last 11 season, potentially significantly impacting a young generation of fans for the future and turned off an existing base of fans who MAY be difficult to attract back... It is still a hockey town, just not sure it is as robust as before.

To some degree, having among the lowest ticket prices in the league may have proped up the attendance figures some as well.

The team likely lost a boat-load of money the last several years for various reasons...I don't blame them for curbing those financial losses. They have shown a history of spending go the Cap in the past.

You want them to spend money today so they cant tomorrow. Good idea when you have to pay 90% of this team in the next 2 years.
