To get a proven goal scorer for a somewhat still unproven Caufield. If the plan is to get Dubois then they are really accelerating the rebuild... Like no rebuild. Also get a lot bigger.
I wouldn't do it but Tarasenko 8s available and I'm bored.

he's played a grand total of 77 NHL games, of course he's still unproven. and I wouldn't make that trade either.

I heard the asking price for Dubois would be Suzuki, not sure if there's any truth to that but I'd rather keep Suzuki if that's the case.

The door is now wide open for Subban. They do need to add a RHD. Replacing Petry was one thing. Replacing Romanov is another.

Subban? why..? I'm sure he's matured over the years but he would still be a distraction the habs don't need.

Egyptians venerated cats, not dogs ... they knew who were their natural masters.

Oh ... and I'm gonna go poop on your porch for your lack of respect.

If Tarasenko is 25 rather than 30 I would trade Caufield for him

You are not saying Habs should go after him right?

I don't know what the plan is for the blues but surely they'll want to avoid letting him walk away without getting anything in return... but yeah the habs are in no hurry, that's for sure.

If he has matured, I don't think he would be.

I think he would come cheap and bring more to the the team on the ice than his contract.

Otherwise the other option is to play Wideman in the top 4 or maybe le coordonier.

wouldn't it be a much cooler story if he came back to his hometown to finish his career, possibly even getting to play a few games of round 1 playoff hockey?

voilĂ .
1- won't cost any assets.
2- by then, we'll have a better idea of what Dach will look like
3- maybe we will have drafted a very good center in 2023
and 4- we don't need PLD before 2 years from now anyway

I feel as though montreal has adopted him and he's embraced the city as his home. He won't see the playoffs, but a transition to the front office may allow him to announce top 10 picks for the next 5-10 years.

Indeed ... that's very optimistic.
There are a lot of good teams ahead of us in the East ... they all are at this time in fact.

We have more than 2 years before we make the playoffs IMO, it sucks but it is what it is.
