Possible... all along they think this team has a chance and they are not looking to reshape much at all......

They have to build up some depth before they reshape, otherwise they are constantly filling holes.

When you look at how long it took Sakic to unload Duchesne, I thought, at the time, that he waited too long until I saw the return. I’ll reserve judgment until this management group shows their final cards.

Has the Miky & Lazar deals improved on that?

Duchene was signed for a couple of seasons still IIRC... that helps...

Hall got quite a bit as an expiring TDL, and he was nowhere near as good as Miller is now.

Even more so why I believe JT fetches a good return being a true 1C.

the Flames thread is a mess. It’s hilarious. Somehow it’s all Justin’s fault.

Could be the Canucks next offseason. Miller, Bo and the great Kuzmenko all going UFA

Best thing for CGY right now after that disappointing PO's. Get rid of 20 mil off the books and two non-playoff performers and get that tool Tutrtlechook out of the dressing room. Flames will be much better off. Good time to be a Flames fan IMO.

He was younger(2 years), and worse. Look at the stats. Hall had one equivalent year to Miller last year, follow immediately by 2 years with injury issues and lower overall production. Hall has no ability to defend, and not a centre. Miller simply has more value. Oh and hall was like 27 at the time. Age doesn't factor in much when it is only 2 years, and under 30.

I believe they may have missed the boat on a good return, but, wtf do I know.
He should have been moved at the TDL.

They apparently don't want to move him anymore.

J.T. Miller’s agent discusses #Canucks future: “There’s a realistic path for an extension”

Clearly VAN hasn't been biting so far...

Bartlett (Miller's agent):

"He would be on board with an extension. The part that we can’t answer is at what value or level the team places on him. From our end, from J.T’s end, there’s a path forward on an extension but it takes two to tango, I guess"

Van has been smart to not allow other teams to fill Miller's agent with BS.
