Sort of disagree with a good chance....there is a chance albeit a very small one.
- Makita

Fair. Maybe it’s not good, but I think if they start the season without a new contract it won’t get done prior to the trade deadline. AND, I think it will be tough to trade him because I think they’ll also be in a playoff battle, either just in, or just out. Hell, they could be firmly in the Pacific Division lead, which would be a tough pill to swallow sending him out to a “contender”. Makes him an own team rental.

I'm really upbeat and excited with the team and looking forward to the coming season, glad Miller will be apart of it...
- Makita

They will be a decent team this season with Miller on it. Probably make the playoffs... which means not trading him at the TDL... and not being able to meet his contract demands and desires to win a cup after.... so he walks leaving this team both not a playoff qualifier and no assets gained to build with.

How upbeat and exciting is that short sighted plan?

See how long the Kadri situation drags on. If Miller wants to go somewhere and team has no cap space. May not get his first few choices. Plus teams will be saving up for Matthews a year later.

Oh I forgot, players without NTC's can still dictate where they go.

I think that's why they call them "free agents" Like Kadri, who is a free agent right now.

You wouldn't be ale to fish it because it would have a bait ban.

If he he doesn't sign before the deadline we trade him no matter what position we are in. This team will not win the cup with the current defence. Better to get something than nothing.

By the deadline our forwards should be able to handle things without Miller. If there is something that can be brought in to the group during the deadline that will help this team for the next few years we can use the haul from Miller to pay for it.

Yes, JT Miller has 1 year left but him looking at how Kadri's free agency has gone so far.

What are WPG fans/media saying about a-hole Pat Brisson saying PLD wants a trade to the Hab's?

Most are saying if he doesn't want to play here, trade him. Chevy will get the better deal the same as trading Trouba. Even though he lost the Laine- PLD pretty badly.

I read PLD went to the draft because he was supposed to be traded that day. Supposedly Chevy after that told Brisson his player is an RFA not a UFA.

Kadri is finding out fast his ask & age are not in his favour. Few teams can afford him but he’s in no rush imo. Teams serious to get him might be trying to move cap if not already having it. Same goes for Miller. As for Matthews I doubt many teams he’d go to can make cap space for him.

Chances are good we will compete for the PO’s given the circumstances from last year are gone. Doesn’t mean Miller will be here cuz I doubt JR/PA let him walk.

Every year brings a new set of younger RFA's that need to be paid as well. See what the final result is for Kadri.

Miller at the TDL will be a steal at a cheap cap hit anyways if Canucks chose to trade him then.
