Any early odds on GM of the year? Is Fletcher in the running? After all he won the Deslauriers sweepstakes for a player that brings an element that we need and there was a lot of competition for the player.

Is this your new everyday post. Like rr last year. Sound like pelle now.

Do we have any players from this 2018 team Canada team that is under fire?
- ClaudeFather

Doubt it. Chuck only likes USA players. Lol.

And a bunch of pro AHL games, you used to minimize NHL games played with Phillipe Meyers too
This will be Frosts 4th pro year

Hey hey. Still has potential.

Reading the story I’d be surprised if hart was involved.

The regular buyout period normally lasts around 15 days or so. Not sure if that has passed or not. If MacEwen winds up going to arbitration. The Flyers will have another buyout period later in the summer.
- MJL

According to what I read it was from July 1 to July 12.

So you are saying there is a second buyout window later?

My prediction is they buy out JVR during the next buy out phase.
- furio16

Why? Once MacEwen wins his arbitration and earns that extra buck, we won’t be able to afford JvR anymore?

That's in a normal year. Free agency started this year on July 13th instead of July 1st.

If you have a player that goes to arbitration, there is a 2nd buyout window later in the summer.

He does, but lets not talk like he is a 19 yr old. This is his chance this year.

This is the best explanation I have seen/heard about the situation. It is bigger than just the 2018 team.

The similarities to the Chicago Blackhawks situation are striking.

There were 20 days between training camp and when Frost was lost for the 2020-21 season. Hard to call that a pro "year".

This will be his third pro year.

Bill, would love to pick your mind a little.

Are you hearing anything regarding the front office? The fanbase needs something.

But in Canada it is worse. Canada Sports gives Canada Hockey money, Sports knew of the crime and still gave money. So the cover up or "turning a blind eye" goes all the way up to government Officials.

It is also a very left leaning country, and they wouldn't dare to be anywhere near such bad optics from a political sphere.

There was a time I considered living there full time, but it's really gone downhill. A lot more expensive.

They usually pull some good info out of the guys they interview. It was their podcast where Clark threw Hextall under the bus for drafting NP instead of Makar as he claims the scouts wanted.

Gaudreau basically confirmed he wanted to come to Philly on the Spittin Chiclets podcast.

He would be a Devil if Columbus hadn't come in with a last minute offer.

I get many on here disconnected and either didnt watch or barely paid attention to those last 12-15 games, but the Cates-Frost-Tippett line was solid. It probably would have looked even more impressive if they hadnt had so many near misses.

I hope Torts runs it back in camp and sees if it is sustainable or if it was lightning in the bottle. I think it was the first time Frost had guys that could keep pace and push the puck up the ice in a way where Frost was almost forced to paly with pace and speed. Coaching should learn from that and make sure he isn't saddled with stationary players like JVR or slower skaters.

just my 2 cents

Last 12-15 games meaningless...playoff teams had already clinched and were playing not to get hurt. Tons of games down the stretch where playoff teams lost to non playoff teams. ...I dont take much from those games but if it gives them some confidence great

So you would have been fine if he mailed it in at the end of the season because the Flyers were not making the playoffs?

Can’t totally dismiss it but let’s see it in October.

The Flyers and Minnesota Wild on Monday were named the 2021-22 winners of the Richard Dillman Award, presented annually to honor the work of outstanding NHL PR staffs.

Philly was named the best in the Eastern Conference, while the Wild won in the West

It looks like one part of the Flyers front office is award winning, just not the part that has to do with winning hockey games.
