Tkachuk to Toronto for Nylander, Nick Robertson and a 2023 first rounder and a conditional 2nd rounder in 2025. The condition being that Toronto can sign Tkachuk to an extension.

Tkachuk to NJ for: Holtz or Mercer (I haven't seen Holtz play, Mercer looks like a better pick up for now), 2023 first-rounder (lottery UNprotected), A.Johnsson (salary), and 2024 second round pick. Might not be enough depending on competing bids, and/or Tkachuk is willing to sign long-term in NJ (I doubt he is).

Leaf fans are fantastic.
ANY deal for Tkachuk starts with Marner.
Because if you're starting with Nylander you'd better include more than your collection of Marly crap that nobody thinks is any good except Toronto.

Flames fans don't want the one dimensional Nylander any more than Leafs fans do.
For years he's been the first thing out of the mouth whenever a Leafs fans proposes a trade.

If Tkachuk is going to you at least one of Luke Hughes / Simon Nemec is coming back along with other pcs
- kresco

It won’t be Luke….or Jack for that matter. Chunky is great but he’s not God

I love how you say "starts with" like Tkachuk is some how better and worh more then Marner.

I love Tkachuk, but he has one year with over a PPG, I think he is a great player, but I doubt he does that consistently.

Marner GP G A P
2018-2019 82 26 68 94
2019-2020 59 16 51 67
2020-2021 55 20 47 67
2021-2022 72 35 62 97

Tkachuk GP G A P
2018-2019 80 34 43 77
2019-2020 69 23 38 61
2020-2021 56 16 27 43
2021-2022 82 42 62 104

He should get a very nice haul in trade, but not getting a player like Marner. Leafs arent getting him regardless.

No, thats just some Leafs fans. Nylander is an awesome player, to say otherwise is stupidity.

Why some Leafs fans would offer him in this trade, is Tkachuk brings some more of what the Leafs are percieved to need, which is more grit.

Nylanders stats
2018-2019 68 31 28 59
2020-2021 51 17 25 42
2021-2022 81 34 46 80

Pretty close to what Tkachuk delivers stat wise. Not saying he is better, as I dont believe that, but to say he couldnt be a component for Tkachuk trade and a good one is dumb. Ill guess the trade doesnt get a player is good as him back.

Leafs arent trading for him anyhow.

Flames are going to win this trade IMO

Tkachuk is so over rated...coming off his career season. Guy has amazing hands but can barely skate. Lucic is a better skater, and that isn't an exaggeration.

he will be nowhere near 104 points again

Dude Tkachuk has already said he's NOT resigning with Calgary. Lower your expectations. You're selling a ONE year UFA player. Not some 8 year locked up gem.
- jtylerm

He is signing an 8 year deal with whatever american team he goes to...Tkachuk is going to cash in on his career season

You can say it 1000 times you are wrong

Tkachuk wants to lock in that 8x10 before he gets 65 points next season. He isn't stupid he realizes 104 points is the high water mark.

Guy will sign 8 wherever he goes, he has already given the Flames a list of teams he is willing to extend with

That family knows how to play the contract game. In late 2000s Walt was traded to Atlanta at the deadline where he was UFA next year. Then comes back and signs back with Blues for multi year deal following offseason.

He will make sure he lands exactly where he wants to.

No point, he'd never go to Detroit since he had to watch his dad lose to them for the entirety of his career.

He might want to try to win a cup though but his family doesn't know about that.

He's a rental dude. you may get 2 firsts AT BEST. But all these 2 firsts plus a NHL top line player plus an A level prospect crap is DELUSIONAL for a rental. He's a rental. No one is paying out the ass for a player only 1 year from UFA and he's not resigning before a trade
- jtylerm

i think youve done a great job convincing yourself. We'll see, but i would bet one of my homes that they get more than 2 1sts. 24 years old, best winger in the game, does it all. You dont think there are at least a dozen GM's drooling right now? Cmon man. GM's dont sit patiently waiting for a superstar to fall into their lap. All it takes is demand, you know better than this. Flames have more than enough leverage. Common sense.

Anthony Mantha (LW) + Hendrix Lapierre (Prospect) + 2023 1st Rounder (Draft Capital)

Very similar in format to the Eichel Deal to Vegas
