Thanks Carol, hopefully the Flames trade force of nature and king disturber of đŸ’© out of the division, or better yet, out of the conference.

All he more reason to build through the draft at the key valuable positions to acquire players that are cost, contract controlled and assets to trade. All the Canadian franchises will soon become what Winnipeg always has been...the farm system for the rich teams, and now American teams.

I didn’t read beyond the headline, did it mention incompetent management with outdated ways of conducting business?

No, it failed to point out one of the more obvious and relevant factors. Just more media spreading poop.

What a crock of shit! Seriously. Canadian teams have as much of a window to be successful in the NHL as every American team but they won’t take the time to rebuild properly like American teams do because they feel the pressure to be successful.

Recently, in NHL years, Vancouver had one of the best teams in the National Hockey League for a few years with Swedish, American, Canadian and several other nationalities of players who were built up over time. Now the Leafs have a very good team and could win a Cup.

Most recently, during the Jim Benning years, the Vancouver Canucks had an excellent opportunity to do a proper rebuild, but they didn’t, because of ownership. The same thing is going down in Philadelphia, they’re not allowed to rebuild, Comcast says they won’t allow it because the fans deserve better. In actuality, they want the gate and tv revenue but they’re too stupid to see the forest for the trees.

In Denver did you ever once over the last 10 years hear their ownership crying blues about them finishing near the bottom of the league for several years, no you didn’t. Now look at them, another Stanley Cup because they rebuilt property through the draft and then made some excellent trades and additions to get to where they are now.

It was nice of RFA Tkachuk to give CAL a list of 6 teams he'd be willing to go to.

It's about tax and entitlement.

Thanks Carol,
Completely agree with your quote:
“ Bartlett sounds like a man who's realizing that Miller's best deal may end up coming from Vancouver.”
Kadri’s camp might be thinking the same of Colorado.

I’m in Ontario visiting family, they don’t have a pool

Seriously though, Ottawa hasn’t done anything yet, but, they build through the the draft and have now entered the next phase where they’ve they’ve made some good trades for key young players. Time will tell but they should be a lot better this year with many really good young players.

Trade protection is a negotiable element of contracts, I don’t know what his says, however, if you don’t want the players to have a say then don’t give them trade protection. I’ll check what his says in cap friendly.

Agree, Dorian has gone from complete moron to ‘he might actually be an ok GM’. I still wouldn’t have ponied up for debrinkat etc. his kids are still too immature to go far in the playoffs.
