That’s why I said “on the bubble”. I think Canucks are likely in the same range, 95-97 points. - 1970vintage
And I was referring to the the odds that were posted of them winning the division and how they must not have been adjusted since the Flames roster "shuffle".

How did this oddsmaker do last season
They got close on the Canucks thanks to a coaching change.
I don't think I'd use that website for betting this year

Manitoba announced additions to its coaching staff, as well.
Nolan Baumgartner was named assistant coach, joining assistant coach Eric Dubois and head coach Mark Morrison. Alex Matheson was named Moose video coach.
Probably why VAN will be standing pat. - VanHockeyGuy
Not a bad thing. I don't have many issues with the club on paper right now but I'd play with what they got right now and see down the line if trades can be made. Let's other make the mistakes

The 8th best defensive team in the league last season wasn't all to do with the insanely good defensive forwards the Canucks don't have. It also wasn't just Demko.
Could it stand to have another top 4 D man, yes.
There will be a few teams right now that will try to go into the season with 20 man rosters it looks like.
Maybe that's where Van and it's 600K in cap space comes in.
I'd imagine you will see some buyouts soon. Maybe that's when Van can improve.

I'd say Demko had a big part in it, the nerdy fancy stats back it up

As big a part as other teams goalies that were in the conference finals. I don't see those teams complaining about their goaltender having to make saves. Great defence's those teams have relying on their goaltending.

Exactly my point, those teams made it that far with their stud goalies and the Canucks missed the playoffs with theirs. Every other goalie's team on that list made the playoffs.
What does that imply about the team in front of Demko?

If you want to compare what those teams did better it wasn't play defence, it was score more. Which obviously has to do with the Canucks defence blowing.
