I’m in Ontario visiting family, they don’t have a pool

Seriously though, Ottawa hasn’t done anything yet, but, they build through the the draft and have now entered the next phase where they’ve they’ve made some good trades for key young players. Time will tell but they should be a lot better this year with many really good young players.

Maybe Tkachuck will accept a trade there!

He doesn’t appear to have any trade protection so he has NO say in where he goes.

He gave CAL a list of 6 teams. See the problem(s)?

Agree, Dorian has gone from complete moron to ‘he might actually be an ok GM’. I still wouldn’t have ponied up for debrinkat etc. his kids are still too immature to go far in the playoffs.

Joe Sakic was under the gun in Colorado too, early on, people were calling for his head, he made some mistakes but he kept at it until he got the right mix of players. There’s hope for Dorion.

Difference is Sakic is in a US market.

Trade protection is a negotiable element of contracts, I don’t know what his says, however, if you don’t want the players to have a say then don’t give them trade protection. I’ll check what his says in cap friendly.

He doesn’t have trade protection, other than that he won’t sign a long term deal anywhere but…

No player who is RFA status can have trade protection.

Doesn’t matter one iota, without trade protection he can get traded to any of the other teams. I don’t see any NTC or a limited NTC in his contract. Treliving will send him where he gets the best return for his organization.

Yes, but if a team not on his preferred list offers more in hopes of his signing then obviously that’s out of his hands. He has very little leverage. Any return is better than zero return.

We'll see, I say he goes to one of his chosen teams.

Moot point, he can ask for whatever he wants but whoever offers Treliving the best return will get him. Even if it’s a soft return. Bidding wars are awesome

I agree. He has no control, he could get sent to Edmonton for one season and then be a UFA at the end of the year. Provided he’s traded prior to his arbitration hearing. I think once he goes to arbitration the team isn’t allowed to trade him.

VAN is lucky, they have undersized passive aggressive players. They're quite content with the way things are.
