He’s not worth that, long term that would bite the organization in the ass.
- LeftCoaster

Sign and trade since that's the biggest concern for teams interested in trading for Miller. As long as it's around market value, it can only help moving him. No one trading for him is realistically imagining he'll then sign for under value...

Who wears the 'C' for the Canucks is the last thing this team needs to worry about. Focus on the unravelling.

He's been keeping his mouth completely shut to the media... maybe a tiny bit smarter now.

Sure but when something goes down and the refs stand in their little half circle to discuss something that happened on the ice, only the players with letters have their ear. Letters are still relevant in the relationship with the officials.
- boonerbuck

Yes true but still players get in their ear skating beside them. Never liked the idea most players think they are entitled to answers.

Waiting for it to come out that Benning was actually Weisbrod’s puppet.

I don't mind and 8 year deal for Miller, but it needs to make sense.
6x8.5 or 8x7.5
More money on a retirement contract, and lowers AAV. Like most GMs say, they figure the last 2 years will be on LTIR.

Get that C from Beta Bo.

Just rolling my eyes at your typical infantile logic. It makes no difference in leadership changing the C on this team. The players are not as narrow minded as you are. They are not automatically going to see a difference in who the leaders are on the team.

You want to strip him of the C to shame and embarrass him because he's not the leader YOU want... like I said, infantile.

I don't think Miller can handle media pressure as well as Bo. He would become a nasty b!tch pretty quick... that doesn't help the team at all...

VAN is lucky, they have undersized passive aggressive fans. They're quite content with the way things are.

Is Bo the leader of the "Country Club"? If he isn't what has he done to fix it?

Spot on. Bo is perfect for that kind of thing. He was front and centre on that NHL “ending hateful language in hockey” initiative. He stood out and was recognized my media outside of Vancouver. Can’t see Miller having the same public presence as Bo.

I also can't see Bo defending a fellow player when he's getting beat up.

I don't think Van wants to pay Miller till he's 38. Forsberg and others that are getting 8 years are going to be 36 when it ends. Zinbejad signed an 8 year deal, he will be 37 when it ends. That's also 8x8.5

Logan Couture 8x8 at 30 and 3 years in is declining on a poor team.

- manvanfan

good comparibles imo, would still like to see 6 years in the end or him moved. Just my preference, wouldnt hate hime gping or staying as long as its done well

I suspect I’m alone on this but I’d consider keeping Miller and risk losing him for nothing. If teams are only offering a later first and fringe prospects (frank) it. The forwards are talented and deep with Miller. The D might be adequate now that we have a stronger bottom 6 that will hopefully back check for a change. And we have Demko.

Our division sucks. Calgary is no longer a threat. Take a shot at a playoff run as it shouldn’t be hard getting in.

Again, this of course only makes sense if the Miller return continues to stink. I’d rather lose him fro nothing than hand him a 7 or 8 year contract. Obviously if we go this route Bo has to be resigned soon

I remember him getting after guys taking runs at young guys multiple times over the past couple years. Guess it’s all about what sticks out for you.
