Maybe it’s time for players to start defending themselves. Why rely on someone else to fight your battles? This ain’t the playground. You’re in the pros. Learn to throw a punch. - bloatedmosquito
The age of the goon has gone but ppl will not see it that way. Grasping at straws to find something to complain about is so tiresome. |

Bo has steadily improved every season while other players are up and down... it's up to management to add players to make this team tougher... but you expect a player getting the C sewn on his jersey is supposed to become a different player???(narrow minded) They don't get the C because they want that player to reshape his personality... that's backwards.
Miller has been here years now and yet you still call it the country club. But magically, if gets the C, it all changes? Like I said, infantile logic. - boonerbuck
The country club narrative is weak sauce. No proof it exists in any way. |

Bo definitely looked stronger on his skates than Nurse... he's a bull.
Do I wish he was more of a tough guy... of course... but I don't expect him to be one because of the magic C. This is hockey not Harry Potter. Waive your twig and poof... instant enforcer.

Well he is already playing in the SHL and doing fine. Plus he has size. Seems like a decent bet to play games one day. - CanuckDon
He played 17 games. I'd say he plays games most likely just not sure he's a top 4 player, more likely a bottom pair guy. Would need to take a pretty good size step this season in the SHL. |

Imo Don wants more from the core. They have lots more to give & it’s time they give it. I side with him in this regard just not giving up on them as easily. Give them a mulligan for last season but no slack this coming one. Green & JB gone & high time to shine. |

Key word BULL & he plays like it. Strong on the puck & very tough to move or push around. I’ll take a player with his style any day. We need more. |

I haven't been preaching a roster turn over. I want a couple of changes and it was addressed a little bit recently. Would still like to see the RD improved and a bigger more abrasive forward added to the top 6 swapping out one of the softer players. Also would like to see a NHL prospect added... I have faith most of this core can be worked with and contender status reached in the near future with the right moves. Not by standing pat though...
Miller's best season of his career wasn't enough... so not sure how this team as it stands improves past playoff qualifier...

Before the season starts every single Canuck player is anticipated to have a career year. It’s the rest of the league that’s up and down. |

If that was the case then McDavid would have been in the playoffs every damn year but he ain't because clearly one player having a career year and about 9 others having down years doesn't equal a playoff spot. |

I agree. I neither want a big turnover nor stand pat. What I want & fully expect is many players to up their game. The BB push only shows they have it in them. A good start to the year is mandatory. The infamous slow starts to a game MUST disappear. |

I'm with you here. I think if they can make the playoffs it would be fine to let him walk, it will level up the entire roster. Experience is what helps improve players (and the entire team). Pure training and innate talent can only bring you so far, and the McDavids are the exceptions and not the norm.
It will suck that we don't get any futures if he walks at the end, but IMO if they make the playoffs it will be worth it. - louis8973

Canucks had three 30 goal scorers and a 99 point season out of their players. Also, Quinn with his career year set a Canucks point record for Dmen. There were a poop load of players on the team that had career season's... including Demko... still not enough but trending in the right direction. The current roster is a playoff qualifying team in my opinion but their ceiling isnt going to be much higher down the road... |

Yeah, one season of playoffs isnt worth the stability a Miller trade could bring for years to come I would hope...
