Well, the top of that tax list explains this, ..."The Athletic reports Tkachuk has supplied the Flames with a list of teams he would sign with, and cite one source listing the St. Louis Blues, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars as options."... |

Surprised the Seattle isn't in that list. Washington State has a 0% income tax as well. |

on the tax issues, i would assume thats not including the tax break US residents get for the interest on their mortgage. For young guys that are financing a house, that is a big tax break. |

Still waiting on any form of factual rebuttal from you moron. You keep stalling because you don’t have one.
How about that oilers owner. |

Unless St Louis is offering the world, that would be the last place I’d send Tkachuk. Devils have lots of prospects that would be nice to have and as someone mentioned Chucky’s cousin is the GM.
I hope Treliving doesn’t Fuk this up. - K-man25
That's the problem is he is basically picking where he wants to go which means return will be disappointing.

The next CBA should factor in taxes for the salary cap to truly make it a level playing field. Seems like a no-brainer honestly. |

Tkachuk just made 21 million over the last 3 years & is looking to cash in on another $9-$10 mill long term, I doubt writing off mortgage interest is a big factor lol,
I would be pretty concerned if he needed a mortgage. However, playing in Vegas may make that a different animal, I guess he just has to call Kane for advise on that.

It seems indisputable that Canadian teams (at least) will need to factor this issue into future draft selections and possibly every trade as well.
It's not hard to see the next CBA negotiations being more difficult than ever because of it.
(The lack of success by all Canadian teams for 30 years suggests that there has been an "elephant in the room" that can no longer be ignored.) |

And if I'm the Flames (Tre), I'd say thanks and send him to Arizona.
Anyone know if his contract includes a NMC or a modified one?
Man, how quickly optimism has switched to feeling like we got kicked in the balls.

Contracts can’t have any sort of trade protection until a player is in UFA years. So no. |

Before we get too enthralled with Chuckie for "takin one for the team" lets see how his no trade clause factors in to all of this. |

I agree
Tkachuk and Kylington to the Devils for Mercer, Holtz and a 2nd.
If the Devils need cap relief, we have the space to accommodate |

Tkachuk should get a big haul from wherever he goes but that deal should be for younger players not guys like Krug or Tarasenko. I'd hit up NJ for players like Bratt, Mercer and picks. |

I like it. Exactly, they still need to sign Bratt.

I hate to say it but I agree. A positive for him would be the chance to play higher up the roster than on other teams.
