Zucker's contract, Petersson's contract, Kapanen 1.9 dead cap hit: I see the Pens are having a very hard time cleaning up JR's (frank)ing mess! - stevens87
Kap is now Hextalls mess. IF we could trade Zucker and sign Milano and Stastny or someone else that would be awesome. |

You would have to give the other team a high draft choice to take Zucker, probably a second round! Better off just letting him play out the year and then let him leave! |

Honestly, not that I think ANY are worth the price, but I'd rather spend $3.2M on ERod or Heinen than Kapanen. |

Zucker accepting the deal wouldn't be the issue. Why would Anaheim take him unless you included a high draft pick!? |

He's actually fairly useful |

I think you're mistaking people wanting him gone vs. the constant rumors of him being on the block, so people constantly proposing trades.

I keep having these moments where I forgot he was re-signed and then I remember all over again.

Zucker would give us more space to sign a couple guys, plus he's probably easier to trade with this being a contract year. |

Flat out stunned. How many games did Kap finish games riding the pine? Had to be around 15-20. Can not believe that contract. We could have had a real contributor for what Hexy paid Rutta and Kap. |

He thinks it's 2011 and that if we save picks some of them might make it to play with Sid and Geno. |

If it was 2011 then yes you would do the trade in a minute because Sid and Gino would be in their mid twenties and have a lot of years left. |

I wonder if we're not a hotspot for forward FA's because our top PP is always set and they are barely gonna get PP time? It's like did they even talk to Nino? |

There's no difference, we're not getting a Mcdavid with a second round pick anyways. That pick isn't going to save the Pens from being bottom feeders after Sid is done. |

I'm flat out shocked how poorly Hextall spent that cap space. Just baffled. Ruhwedel was fine at as the bottom pairing RD. Then spend 3.2 on a one trick pony when everybody knows the trick. It's not as bad as the JJ signing, but it's not far off either.

JJ was just straight up terrible, Rutta isn't that bad but we just didn't need him. All I'm gonna say is Kap better have the season he had in 18-19. |

Just saying neither of those players were needed. At all. When you have such limited window and cap space, you can't make these kind of signings. IDK... It's exhausting watching our GM's make avoidable mistakes.

So much for the myth that Hex plays hardball. He's just a moron. Why not go to arbitration? I could have won that hearing.
Walk in there with 3 pieces of paper...one with Kap's stats including the 4 goals in his final 56 games in bold plus the list of line demotions and benchings, and the amount of time spent playing with Geno.
The second simply the production we got from Boyle for 800K on the 4th line.
And third, the very lengthy list of wingers with similar production that have already signed for under 2 million(mainly 1 year prove it deals)...all of whom were not forced into 2nd line duty with a center the likes of Malkin most of the season.
FFS what exactly do they see that most of us don't????? |
