Colorado, NYR, LA in that order for this coming season. I don’t see him playing in Canada. - Stripes77
As a rental? Why not? |

I'll put 10 bucks on the ducks just for the odds, location and cap space
they have some nice young players - homiedclown
I think he’s looking for a cup this year. The Ducks aren’t there yet. |

American star players are leaving Canada.
Listening to the Instigators, both Rivet and Peters talk at length about how that place is brutal and nobody wants to live there. |

Impressive they've been able to do what they've done while having to work around that Yandle buyout.
Also works well for them as they will have an extra $5M in cap space next season, along with the expected $1M rise in the upper cap limit. |

Agree with pk88 wanting to play in America.
Gotta think he would want to play near home?
Nyr is where I would be betting
Toronto would be Intriguing (different than other Canadian cities)
Buffalo
Wonder how much his value is now vs. The trade deadline?

He's only owed $2.9 mil as $4 mil is a signing bonus that's already been paid.
I'd guess he'd have a higher value at the deadline. |

Cash versus cap hit doesn't matter much to contenders...to a team like Buffalo I think it would matter more.
Colorado is very much in the mix, it depends on Kadri right now

I don't know if they split up the Skinner Tage Tuch line but I understand what you're trying to do. The 3rd line looks like a defensive nightmare, but if they use that line like Lindy used the Vanek Roy Max line in 05-06 you could be on to something

Yeah I was thinking about Olofsson and Tuch, think they are interchangeable. And the 3rd line, with the way Quinn was taken out of the playoffs I think it improved his 5vs5 play, had to help in other ways. |

Tuch really made that Tage and Skinner line go IMO.
His speed and size digging pucks out in the corners getting it to Skinner and Tage was pretty huge. Olofsson doesn't have that speed and even though he was much better 5on5 after he got healthy I don't think he can play that Tuch role with those two.

They're very different players in terms of impact. Barring another trade, you almost have to include Asplund in the top 9 to avoid getting caved in defensively.
Olofsson-Tage-Tuch
Skinner-Cozens-Hinostroza
Asplund-Mittelstadt-Quinn
Krebs-Girgensons-Okposo.
I assume they'll start Peterka in Rochester, which is insanity, but that looks like the case.

48 games since tuch started to play
tage 28 goals 22 assists
skinner
28 games w/o tuch
9 goals 8 assists
52 games once tuch started to play
24 goals 22 assists

Yeah he had a big impact on that line. Think he could do the same with the youngins. Olofsson looked pretty good next to Tage at the end last year. |

They broke it up towards the end of the year and Thompson still scored like crazy to end the season |

CapFriendly has a calc for taxes. Tk will pay about 40.9% in Florida and would have paid about 47.7% in Calgary, while Buffalo is 47.9%. Ottawa/Toronto are worst, at 53.2%.
It now factors in their road games, which is fun to see.

How is it brutal here? Because the labels on the cans at the grocery store are different? That's all I heard. This is some ugly American rhetoric.

Literally coming from the mouths of two Canadian ex players that when talking to their other teammates they all agreed Edmonton was the last place they wanted to play?
Try again with the ugly American rhetoric...
The whole grocery store thing was Petey talking about players wives...you should go back and listen to the entire thing. |
